first time i ever played live poker in a casino i left about $60 positive. lost my $100 buyin the next 2 times and then left with about the same i came in with the next 2 times. I made about $200+ within the first month or 2 of playing live poker

I started off online in 2007. I deposited on FTP & Pokerstars (not long after, probably another 20 poker sites). The first night I played I didn't know how to navigate the lobby & ended up registering for a $1 game (as it was just about to start). I didn't even know it was a tournament (was actually looking for a SnG on recommendation from a friend who'd been playing for ~6mos. already). I ended up cashing for $114, taking 2nd place in the very first game I played LOL ('The Ferguson' on Fulltilt)

Look, this is now a days you need to make a deposit if you want to win something. But i think 6-7 years ago everyone can earn 50$(or another value) just for starting your poker career. So it was really not so hard to take this 50$ free - win an extra 50, and make a cashout. So i think 100$ is not something impossible in that times.
