No matter what anyone says, playing against Brazilians is the toughest, it's very difficult to read the opponent.

Ukrainian poker players are of a very good level. I have met them many times and learned a lot for myself in tactics. Your esteemed General Zaluzhny is acting in approximately the same spirit. Glory to Ukraine!

I think that the Ukrainian school of poker is pretty strong, there are many Ukrainian poker players who participate in top tournaments and take excellent places in the finals, and these are not isolated cases, there are quite a lot of them.

Ukrainians are pretty good players. Brazilians are by far the worst--nobody else comes close. It's shocking how terrible they are.

I can only judge by freerolls. The main strength is that there are a lot of Ukrainian players, it happens that there are four Ukrainians at a table of nine, apparently poker is very popular there.

I live in Kyiv, rockets often explode outside the window,
this does not prevent us from winning tournaments, so I think our school is strong)

To be honest, Ukrainians are the hardest opponents for me to play against. :ninja: First of all, all Ukrainians always play only for the result. There are no Ukrainians who play in poker for fun. The result always comes first. Most Ukrainians are tight, but they don't like giving up their blinds. Therefore, when you steal blinds, be prepared that the Ukrainian will counterattack. ;)

I play a lot of online tournaments and I play with a lot of Ukrainian players, so I would analyze them as aggressive, good players.

I have to admit, it's good. Players from Ukraine usually represent a high level and play aggressively. I have the opportunity to play dedicated tournaments with Ukrainian players on PokerKing and also on the Ukrainian poker room, PokerBet.

I play online, and with all due respect to my Ukrainian friends, I can say that they are among the opponents who give me the most profit in poker. If they're strong in poker, let them continue to be. Profit is always welcome.

Ukrainians are no better or worse than others. They are ordinary players, some of whom are more skilled, but there are also bingo players. Ukrainians do not stand out in any particular way, so it is difficult to comment on their level of play.

I live in Ukraine and have not heard about Ukrainian poker school!!! If you were asking about players in general, I play at the micros and there are enough bad players from many countries that I definitely can't single out any country as the country with the best or worst players !!!
I think he meant “Ukrainian poker school” more like a playing style — like when people say the German school of football or the Canadian school of hockey.
Not an actual school, but a general way of playing.

There used to be a really strong player from Ukraine — Eugene Katchalov.
For a long time, he was one of the top tournament players in the world, with over $9 million in live winnings.
He won a wsop bracelet, a WPT title, and even got named bluff Magazine’s Player of the Year back in 2011.

But lately, he kind of disappeared from the poker radar. I haven't seen him in major events recently.
Last I heard, he moved out of Kyiv during the war, spent some time in Europe, and was involved in esports and charity work.
Would be cool to see him back at the tables someday.
