Thank you so far.
I figured it was a good question in the original thread - it truly ran bad enough....though.
I usually don't restart closed threads - for obvious reasons.
I have learnt that the pay-out structure is worth a close look at -
(-partly even in freerolls -) and I do some adding before I start playing.
Closed a leak here I think.

...but looking at my overall roi 2009 until now - I suck big time.
...luckily I stick to some BRM...
...and haven't played that much this year either.

The funny thing is:
I place ITM in MTT freeroll donkaments (1,5K-10K players) regularly (apprx. 1-2 a week)
In different games. NLHE/LiHE/OHilo/OH,Razz
And I don't play everyday - prob still amateur.
( I love the game but still have to improve) :p

Thanks anyway for further input

Just curious is Variance really applicable when it comes to Mtt's. I ask because I try to play a simliar game overall & for some reason I've had a very hard time yesterday, I managed to make it to about 7 Ft's yesterday yet I've bardly finished in the top end of the money aspects. I mean coolers every where I looked yesterday, KK vs AA AIPF, NutFlush combo draws + Open enders= No hits. Just curious as to should we be playing hands like this extremly aggressive so that way we can have all the money in the pot prior to hitting or should we be playing them as they are (Only drawing hands).

Also wondering about the merits of Variance when it comes to Mtt`s

Ty all

Well, variance is basically the same thing as luck, either good or bad. Over the long-run, things should even out. I wouldn't change your game; you're doing very well, except maybe 50 tourneys a day is too much. hehe. I don't know. All those coolers you talk about are part of the variance in MTTs, i.e. bad luck, imo.

See I didn't take 4000 and divide this by 11. I took 100x40=4000. I then took 4000/27%=1080. (assuming one only won the minimum and only placed in the money 27% of the time). And btw, obtaining even 60% in MTT is obtainable.
~mod edit: keep it civil~

No, but you should have. You already came up with 11/40 cashes for 27%. There is no reason to use 27% again, $1080 is a meaningless number in your example. After rake a breakeven avg cash for 27% ITM is ~$400 in $109 buyin.

60% ITM might be attainable in $5 20% payout fields if you played to mincash, but is not desirable with mtt payout structures, as you'd almost surely have to avoid some profitable allins or limp into the money.

~mod edit~ 60% is totally unattainable for MTT (nor is it desirable by the way). I've neven seen anyone with a 60% ITM rate. Hell I've never seen anyone with a 40% ITM rate. It's simply doesn't exist (~mod edit~).

But if you are so sure this happens, would you care to post links to OPR profiles that show such high ITM rates? I have browsed 1000s of player profiles and I have never seen anyone with an ITM higher than 35%.

A lot of the really big winners have ITM around 14-16% which seems optimal. Mine is at ~23% which I think is too high. I could do with taking a few more chances and getting a bigger stack more often to make more final tables at the expense of some small cashes.

Without wishing to be unkind to anyone, anything over 30% for a decent sample is nigh on impossible.

Do you ever update your blog:confused: :p ? I swear I was enjoying reading up on you and how you were doing, and the challenges ahead (Poker wise), your game plan and how you manged to stay on point in such long tourneys like the Mill, and Warm-Up.

But as for the %13 thing, i'm actually at 17ish or so I'd say (Well after my proformances these past 2 days, i'd bet that even dropped down).

Once again ty for your input and as well as everyone else's

Ya 180's are the best, I find for some reason I prefer the turbo's rather then the normal ones, yet I can accumilate more chips in the 4.40's (Normal ones) quicker as apposed to the turbo's:confused: ? Oddly enough makes no sense yet, I also seem to lose faster in the normal ones rather then turbo's. Yet also make more FT tables in the turbo's rather then normal ones?

More or less my game is screwed:p :D :) , and I have'nt the sligtest idea as to why this is, the way it is.

For sure 180s are the best
