My family is very understanding about my hobby and I have never had any conflicts over playing poker. But for me, my family always comes first, so I pay attention to my family members first and play only when I have free time.

My Poker sessions On-line or Live games have never interfered with my Family Life, In fact I have Registered for some freerolls and had to walk out and leave before the game started, for some Family Emergency, and come back hours later to Find I had actually made the Money in some just by sitting out.

No, my family doesn't understand that poker is not a game of chance. For my family, poker is the same as a casino. My mom and dad have aways been supportive. My wife back when we started dating and I told her had her concerns which of course I expected. However after sitting her down and showing her I have been a winning player for 10+ years(before meeting her) eased those easily enough. Since then she has been very supportive and even encouraging me to play more over the years. I'm also good at making time for family and life outside/away from poker. So no issues here.
