Patrik Antonius said in a Full Tilt interview that he thinks if Islidur1 lost his entire bankroll he could start out again with a couple of thousand dollars and easily get it up to a million in a year. He also said that you need a bankroll of at least 300 million to play at the stakes the are playing at now. Not unusual to win or lose a couple million in an hour or so...... All I can say is WOW!!!

patrick antonius is really giving him a lot of respect. Isidur1 hasn't earn my respect yet I still think he is a noob that got a lucky run.

Lol he hasn't earned your respect yet and you think he's a, in your terms, 'noob'? This guy has gained the respect of PA, someone who possibly knows a tad more about poker than you do.

i agree, not quitting/stopping from playing after winning 5mil is pretty mind boggling.

Maybe he just doesn't care that much about the money. This is the reason you'll never be in his position

Full Tilt should open up a $5,000/$10,000 PLO table for these guys. $500,000 buy-in. I think the nosebleed regulars would probably play it.

that was my first thoughts too that he is probably a millionaire of some sort but he is too good of a player to be one and he played too often, no millionaire would put in this much hands in a short amount of time.

Perhaps he doesn't, or perhaps he doesn't know how or when to quit or how to deal with tilt.
I prefer to not deal in "never's". You have no clue if I will ever be in that position or not.
What's with all these "comebacks" to everyone that has something to say that could possibly be construed as negative? You the official fan club?

Its brought some interest to the cash tables well beyond the "durrrr challenge". Durrr was all talk and it never seemed to get off the ground. This guy said nothing, but put money out on the table and has the poker world buzzing. I give him great props for brilliant marketing. And to be that clever at only 20? How about that!

Lmao! You're too funny!
I hope the guy wins it all back and sticks around to be a force to be reckoned with. With a lack of info on him, it just seems like he may need a little training in brm and self control and the like. It would be such a waste for a player with his type of skillz to go bankrupt and stick around on the scene for awhile.

His fearlessness is part of what is making him great, it is also part of what can be his downfall. I don't think I could be that fearless with that kind of money, but, stranger things have happened.

*So anyone have an update on him?

Off topic: PA gaining a little bit of weight, or he just getting older? He looks way different to me for some reason, compared to old High Stakes Poker episodes, but I guess you cant look the same forever..

PA really said that?? I find it hard to believe that any of these guys are worth 300 million, much less have that as an actual bankroll.

this is a guy who was unheard of online poker 6 months ago.

went from 2k to over a million [if all reports are true ], in a coupla weeks, then stepped up to play the highest buy in tourneys on the net,

taken all the headlines away from Tom Dwan

hes shaken the top online players at Full Tilt

hes created all the online poker headline over the past few months

if nothing else hes been good for the game and generated interest,

well goddame respect from me

Interesting interpretation about the most talked about topic/player in highstakes poker today... a guy who showed that he was able to crush Tom Dwan (not an easy task).
Not sure how you figure he bought respect? He built up a roll in less than 2mos. from 5figures to over 5million. (this is just what we know of... the bankroll on Fulltilt.. we have no clue as to what the rest of this guy's poker experience is... there have been many accusations that this is Viktor Blom (by Tony G for one).. but apparently Viktor adamantly denies it is him.
How do you figure that this guy needs to get BR advice when we have zero clue as to what his roll even is? (ie he's playing pots worth $700k+, I really don't think that losing 4mil in one day is that huge.... although I heard the total he lost in that day was closer to 2.8mil).
He's gained respect from poker greats such as Patrik Antonius but not from Storm Raven. That sounds a bit odd in itself???
I'm pretty sure he could teach us all a thing or two.... probably even stuff about BRM (one could assume he must know something about it to be even rolled to be considering playing those kind of stakes).

I know everyone just says he crushed durrrr but tbh, he just ran really well and his wins should be chalked up to positive variance more than anything.
