I play tournaments and I also play cash tables ... but if I have to choose one it would be the tournaments .... the reason why I play cash table is because sometimes the tournaments are very slow and long and that is a bit boring. .. so I play a cash table simultaneously and so I see more action ...!

I agree- I've always prefered tournament poker for the different strategy involved.

I like tournaments. I think it is because if you made a mistake and your whole bankroll wasn't involved you can recover from it whereas in a cash game it hurts your bottom line immediatly.

I use the cash games to fund the tourneys. For example in a Drunk Donk tourney on ACR I went out in like 98th place (I think). I had 2 rebuys and the addon ($2). So I went to a .2/.5 nlh cash game and won my $2 back.

I play tournaments way more than cash games. I don't feel comfortable playing no limit Texas holdem in cash tables, yet I play a lot of Texas holdem tournaments. They're very different from one another.

On the other hand I can play Omaha at both tournaments and cash tables without any issues, especially h/l, which is my favorite game.

Both

I like to play both cash and tournament poker. I don't play them that differently. The true difference to me is around the money bubble. I will try to steal some chips at that time because so many low chip players don't want to get bubbled out.

Cash or Tournament

I play MTTs and Rings. Sometimes I will feel adventurous, and play cash games, but not often.

I play both. My favorite mtt is bounty tournaments because I like to get something back if I don't make it to ITM. If I come up short on a tournament, then I go to cash game(s) to make up my loss.

I personally play cash games mostly because I feel like there is less variance, I can tell sooner whether or not I am losing because I'm playing badly, and cash game poker teaches you how to play poker at its fundamentals. You learn how to play a standard 100BB strategy. Tournament poker seems so situational and complex to me that I feel like I'd need to work my way up to that. However I have heard that generally tournament poker is softer.

I like to play MTT and Spin&Go, cash game not for me. I like to play long way for good prize and risk only one buy in.

I like the idea of loosing just one buy-in if you go out in a tournament vs losing a fair wedge of your bankroll on a bad beat in a cash game.

Cash games just aren't for me.

Hi.
I play poker every day for 4-6 hours.
I play only in tournaments worth up to two dollars.
I do not play cash games. Unfortunately, I have always lost in cash games.
Good luck.

For me it all depends on where I am playing. If its live play I like both cash and tourneys equally. But for some reason when I'm online I couldn't play cash games to save my life. I don't know why, I just always seem to get killed playing cash online. I prefer MTTs or SNGs. I tend to play more SNGs because I have a family and it is hard at times to grind for 6-8 hours where with SNGs I can basically choose how long I play during a session. Plus people play terrible in SNGs. It takes a lot longer to grind up a BR but it just works with my hectic schedule.

i am a devoted tournament player, and find over time that playing cash involves alot more patience and can be slow unless you are playing multiple tables. tournament games are king in my world

I find it hard to play cash, I do not know why... This is too hard and risky for me... So far... I am into tournaments and SNGs. As far as I know, being good at cash games makes you a stronger tournament player.)

Highly prefer tournaments. So much more dynamic and nuanced. E.g. I love the dynamics near the bubble--I also tend to be bigger stacked at that point more often than not and I can use that to my advantage. I like that strategies change as the blinds go up, and I adapt to that well. Also it's a journey with a beginning, middle, and end!

Cash games do sort of bore me.

I don't however think cash vs tounery players are technically better than the other. It's just a different game, and I like the commitment to a tourney.

I grew up playing cash. I didn't even know about tournaments until they started putting the wsop on TV since then I've been hooked. I think the tournament play is just so much more fun.
