Tourney player. The house always wins. For tourney play that is limited on my end to 10% or up to 15% I think I've seen. In cash games the house is constantly raking. So not only do I have to beat the table, but the rake that is ongoing. And if I'm in a live cash game with a dealer, add the tips on beating. One crushing suck out on a big pot, I just can't handle that swing. Whereas in a tourney if I have chips left, I can keep grinding.

That is why tournament poker is more interesting and playable than cash. Tournament poker is played by a lot more people, respectively, more weaker players. I am a cash player for sure. Low stakes tourney is only for a laugh as players tend to call with nothing and with no strategy. High stakes tourneys' start that why, but soon those players are eliminated and real poker begins.

Tournaments for me... feel like the cash games are too big of a grind especially at the micro limits. Tournaments have a lot more fish... just gotta pick em wisely and stay patient. Been doing really well with tournaments, not so much with cash games. Strategy is definitely waaay different.

While I have been playing for a short time (10 years ago I played about six months and now I have three) I like tournaments (for now freerolls) and sit and go. But maybe they are some help, which I hope to get on this site, encourage me to play cash NL2.
I think MTT and sits are more exciting to my modest way of seeing, and less knowledge of theory is needed (I insist, I'm a rookie).
But I am sure that one day, with theoretical knowledge and enough bankroll, I would like to play cash.

Yes i have to agree with that. In my opinion, cash game players to a certain % tend to be more skilled than in tournaments

I am both , I love tournaments but you have to be prepared for 5-6 hours to reach top 20 and it takes a lot of your time, maybe you just end up mini cashing.

So for me cash games are important to build a bankroll. But you need to know when to fold, too much aggression and you could lose everything in a few minutes.

I like to play aggressive style and in cash games you can't be as aggressive if you do three barrel bluff you lose all the buy-in so easy and if you do the same it's not so expensive in tournaments when you don't play as big stakes as in cash. For me tournaments and shorter stacks and faster play fits well.
