I don't make enough to live off from Poker, Neither do a lot of professionals. It is a Myth that many people have that Poker alone can make you a Millionaire and you spend your time jetting around from event after event, Which is far from reality.
Serious Professional Players always have a back up plan for the down swings in Poker, everyone at some time goes on "Tilt" just ask Phil Helmuth, Many Poker superstars write books or have internet Poker schools for which there is a joining fee. Some go into Partnership with Friends and Family and have side businesses that give them a profit as a sleeping partner, others dabble in the Stock market or Real estate, renting out properties and many other business opportunities.
There is an old Adage that goes "Never put all your Eggs in one basket" which basically means keep your businesses separate and if one should fail, you always have a back up plan. I myself worked hard as a self employed Taxi Driver for a good part of my life, mainly because I worked the hours I wanted to work, could take time out whenever I wanted and whenever I had any surplus cash I invested it into stocks and shares, which paid me dividends and when I took early retirement I lived comfortably with a Private Pension and my Investments, Now I am old enough to draw a state Pension I am better off.
Poker will always be a Hobby for me, regardless of what I make from it.

Muitas estrelas do pôquer escrevem livros ou têm escolas de pôquer na Internet para as quais há uma taxa de adesão. Alguns fazem parceria com amigos e familiares e têm negócios paralelos que eles dão como sócios dorminhocos, outros se envolvem na bolsa de valores ou no mercado imobiliário, alugando imóveis e muitas outras oportunidades de negócios.
Existe um velho ditado que diz “Nunca colocar todos os ovos na mesma cesta”, que basicamente significa manter seus negócios separados e, se houver falha, você sempre terá um plano alternativo. Eu mesmo trabalhei duro como taxista independente durante boa parte da minha vida, principalmente porque trabalhei as horas que queria, pude tirar uma folga quando quis e sempre que tinha algum dinheiro excedente eu investia em ações e ações. , que me rendeu dividendos e quando me aposentei antecipadamente vivi confortavelmente com uma Previdência Privada e meus Investimentos. Agora que tenho idade para receber uma Pensão do Estado, estou na melhor situação.
