Poker simulator for learning

Playing against AI is really a bad idea, it will be running of an algorithm, after a while you will unconsciously pick it up. Its not remotely going to play like a human will and if you practice with it long enough you will probably end up worse

Sure Forest just like Kasparov worked out Deep Blues' game or Le Se-dol cottoned on to Deepmind.
What reason do you have for AI's not to have bluffing Algorithms or polarized 3 betting algorithms or range balancing algorithms etc etc etc.
I'd go all in you'd never be able to tell the difference. Only that over the long haul you'd lose.
Every +EV bet made in microseconds.
You do that?

I do not believe a well thought out poker game with bots has been made tbh. Its not like Chess, which is a solved game where its about the maths. As Poker there is some luck to it, some programmer might calculate what the AI does by already have dealt the community cards in the back end, in order to make it feel life like. Anyway, OP wants a simulator for training and poker isn't about playing by the book always, imo OP and all beginner players (including me) can benefit a lot from reading the table instead, value betting tight players etc. An AI may act tight in one hand and loose in another, whereas a human being probably wont, it completely depends on who created the AI.

That's what poker snowie claims to have achieved to an extent (from what I gather). It may have been able to quantify and base it's action frequencies accordingly. Memory is a little vague but I think there's some really good information there on other controls and specifics to a test they did with Dan Cates (Jungleman), where cards dealt were mirrored (AA vs AK then reversed) at some point in time.

To a certain extent it should be similar to the one on one coaching we get from top players because they are able to read the HUD numbers and gather a lot more insight than we do.

Poker is an incredibly complex game. In chess, there is no value in bluffing, and there are no unknown elements left to come. But like chess, there are certainly some optimal moves to be made and it all comes down to numbers. Even bluffs have a number (frequency, size).

I agree one must take playing with bots with a grain of salt. The idea of training isn't just about beating a bot, but about experiencing scenarios.

I have often tried to find this myself. Play money COULD be a good way, but there are not enough willing to sit and grind for hours to simulate real poker action. Instead of trying to use it as practice they use it for entertainment only by betting crazy. Wish I could tell you there is a way.

I found myself in this exact situation shortly after I got married and we had a baby. Online wasn't an option for me (still isn't until this July) and I couldn't get a whole lot of time to make it out to the casino or to play in private games. I wanted to "train" for my next tournament, but didn't really see a good way. Play money games are a joke. Nobody takes them seriously, so you can't use them to prepare for a real tournament. So, I decided to pull out an old 2008 wsop Xbox 360 game, create a poker "career" and play against the computer opponents. I was surprised to find that it actually plays like a real tournament. The computer players are based on real professional poker players. So, you'll be playing in a tournament with players like Annie Duke, Chris Ferguson and Erick Lindgren. The AI is pretty decent. If a hand gets to showdown, you'll generally be able to make sense of why your opponents played a certain way. I seriously suggest you give it a shot. I found this WAY better than playing play money games that are nothing more than just shove fests.

They have an MTT simulator at advancedpokertraining.com. While it won't allow setting specific parameters for the isolated training you require it will let you practice away from real players to take that extra time needed for your decisions.

What would be good poker simulator online where you can play against computer ?
I am trying to raise my tournament poker skills to the next level and need a tool where I can drill new skills without hurry. Sometimes I have to think about right decision 10 minutes.

Real poker games are too fast.
