I learned to play as a kid. At all my family get tothers we play a lot of games. Cards, domino's and "Murder" (a marble and dice game) were the ones we played most often. I didn't really get interested in it until I went to the house of one of my friends and they had a tournament going on about 2 years ago. I have been rehooked ever since.

Well I learned 5 card draw by teaching myself; I learned to play 7 card stud by playing a Super NES game called Vegas Stakes (The A.I. on that game was on the level of "idiot"); I learned game of choice, Texas Hold 'em, by watching the very idiotic Celebrity Poker Showdown (I hate poker shows with celebrities) and then I watched the World Poker Tour; and I learned triple draw poker by playing online (and I am not good at that one).
I also learned some stategy by reading a little bit of Phil Hellmuth's book Play Poker Like The Pros and Harold Lederer's DVD The Secrets of No Limit Hold 'em. I think I benefitted more from the DVD since Lederer is a better teacher and isn't full of himself like Hellmuth is.
I learned to play from a buddy of mine, i picked up very quick and it came pretty natural to me to understand the quality of hands, position, pot odds, and implied odds. I'd like to think of myself now as an average player. i've started reading some books and im always looking to improve my game.
I learnt the basics when they started showing WPT events on free TV. Went to the casino, played fifteen minutes on there practise table, and have been trying to improve online ever since.

I was reading Kevin Smith's blog (yes, as in Clerks... That Kevin Smith) and he said about UltimateBet. I grew intrigued as to why he was so addicted, so I went and downloaded the client, and read up on basic strategy. Went to Wikipedia, looked up Poker, and that was that
Before i even knew how to play my friends would have cash games and i would just drink and hang out with other friends who also werent playing. I'm pretty much new to online poker, and I am yet to deposit anywhere. I really like tournament play, and I was wondering what you thought were the best sites for me to consider making my first deposit at.
