Where did you learn to play?

Saw a add for pokerstars and started there, but now i basically play those hourly free rolls because i love the huge tournaments.

From my dad back in the day when I was a little boy. He would have poker night every saturday night. It was cool to sit around wiht men a learn all types of poker games.

Started when I was 12 working as a caddy at the golf course, we would play all kinda games. Always a .25 cent ante, Also played with my buddies at every hockey tournement. We would always get a roll of quarters from our parents and play till we won a bunch or lost it all. Didn't really get any good til lately.

Actually I first satrted to learn how to play on the old Nintendo. Casino Kid. Once I started playing that game years ago I starting picking up the hand held poker games and then started playing online for play money and learned the basics. Never really knew how much strategy was involved in the game until I started seeing the wsop on TV. I am hooked.

I started to take an interest in poker by watching it on late night tv. The stakes involved made it exciting and to see someone win a pot with no hand at all just amazed me. Only recently started playing at different online sites and hopefully improving all the time. Forums like this are a great help to give tips and also advice on how to play hands and moves to make. Thanks to all in the community who post and pass on their wisdom to the younger generation :burnout:

Well I learned alot by playing at partypoker.NET not .com. Bc .NET is like a poker school. It teaches the basics and then I just started playing.

I learned to play on partypoker playing the play money tables. I built myself up to hundres of millions of play chips (lol) and finally decided I was ready to play forreal. From there I deposited 50 bucks went to a ring game and am still building on that 50! I thought that the play money tables at partypoker were a great place to learn.

my first game of poker was at my old work place there where guys that played it at dinner time and i used to watch them they asked me if i wanted to play so i said ok i left the table with £80 so i was hooked from then and the hits just keep on coming :adore:

I think your always learning...especially live games in person...i started 6 years ago playing 5 card with my friends..haha those were the days...now I play higher limit tables...my favorite is omaha hi/lo

One day I was wonderin' where my bf was, and he was in the comp room so i go in there and ask what he was doin' he say's playin' poker im like oh okay so stayed for a few mins watched, then I got up and said this is retarded, (had no clue what was goin' on) so I left. woke up late night and he was still there, he finally went to bed, so I log on to ub and see what was keepin' him up all night, so I sit down at a play chip table and watched and then looked up how to play, and then a few weeks later.. playin' in point tourneys at ub finishin' top 20, and my bf and i would have competions who can make the most play chips in 2hours,. we did that for a while. Anyways Long story short,. I tought myself how to play poker by the guidelines UB has.
