Two Ways To Learn Poker ..
I play at many different casino poker rooms in Vegas .. with a wide variety of player skill levels .. from the first time player to some of the well established local pro's ..
The consensus seems to be the same with all of the higher skilled players, (those that have played for ten or more years) .. so I'll pass it on ..
There are two main ways to learn to play poker ..
Or to pay your poker dues ..
(1). Watch TV .. play in a home game or two .. maybe on the internet (play $$) .. Then head to Vegas .. and loose a ton of $$ ..
(2). Or read some
poker books .. Low Limit Holdem by Lee Jones (
poker stars Manager) is a good one .. play a ton of hours online (low limit
real money tables - $1 - $2 is a good starting point) .. if you're near a casino, check into some lessons, or check out the poker boot camps. And if you're really serious .. take a dealer's class, it's good to see poker from the dealers perspective & you'll know the rules inside & out .. and one last thing .. be sure you have a poker budget in place. I've played for a living since 2004. I got lucky .. I had a professional teach me this way very early in 2000 .. and I'm still hanging in there. I hope that this helps someone to ..
