For time and relavance sake I would have to say Poker.com. I really started to learn there watching some of the larger players at the time. My favorite player to watch was Redhot696969, she was very freindly and played a sound game where she made it into the money almost everytime.

My parents taught me and my brother to play poker age 8 (now I'm 35).
They always played standard Poker NL with their bowling club in our hut in the Austrian alps and the kids were allowed to take part. We all got 50cents and were allowed to keep any winnings, if we lost - off to bed.

I learned from my older brother when him and his friends would play in High school. As for online, I started on Full Tilt, then converted to pokerstars

Two Ways To Learn Poker ..

I play at many different casino poker rooms in Vegas .. with a wide variety of player skill levels .. from the first time player to some of the well established local pro's ..

The consensus seems to be the same with all of the higher skilled players, (those that have played for ten or more years) .. so I'll pass it on ..

There are two main ways to learn to play poker ..
Or to pay your poker dues ..

(1). Watch TV .. play in a home game or two .. maybe on the internet (play $$) .. Then head to Vegas .. and loose a ton of $$ ..

(2). Or read some poker books .. Low Limit Holdem by Lee Jones (poker stars Manager) is a good one .. play a ton of hours online (low limit real money tables - $1 - $2 is a good starting point) .. if you're near a casino, check into some lessons, or check out the poker boot camps. And if you're really serious .. take a dealer's class, it's good to see poker from the dealers perspective & you'll know the rules inside & out .. and one last thing .. be sure you have a poker budget in place. I've played for a living since 2004. I got lucky .. I had a professional teach me this way very early in 2000 .. and I'm still hanging in there. I hope that this helps someone to .. :)

Just so you know, there are more schills on BC than any other site. Notice how the same players always play the rebuy games and constantly push all in with junk, if they win, u rebuy, if they lose they rebuy to bring in the money. They will push every hand virtually. Especially in the GTD omaha h/l games. They are "ultra agressive", cause thay are paid players sucking you in.

Sadly I learned to play in jail were we would play for commissary. I couldnt even shuffle cards before then. Then i was transfered to work release and thats when i fell in love with the game. We were allowed to have real cash on us and we used checker pieces as chips. Not only was it fun but it made my time go by alot quicker.:)

I actually started playing regular 5 card draw a long time ago, but learned to play holdem about 2 or 3 years ago. A buddy of mine invited me to a tournament at his friends house and I just picked it up as I went along. From there I started playing at different home games and picked up different techniques/strategies from the guys I played with and went from there.

It was a slow transition in live games with friends - 5 card draw has now been almost completely replaced with hold'em.

From friends. I was like 15 when I started playing and I was BS'ing around most of the time. I remember my first tournament. 400 people and I lost and finished 397th. Some people I used to talk to regularly were pretty decent players and I picked up from them. Learning when to check-raise, fold, and read the opponents at the table.

One of those people was in this years wsop. I had no idea until I was watching her in a tournament on Stars. She placed in the money and finished like 230ish or something in that range.

The first site where i opened an account was PokerStars, I started playing play money there, I liked that site cause it noticed me about my hand strength so i could learn easier. After i got some experience in play money I started to play Freerolls or low cost cash games/tournaments. Nowadays i usually play at full tilt poker, cause I think it had a faster gameplay than PokerStars, although there are more players and tables at PS.

I learned to play poker in paradise poker site which is no longer. I use to play in the play money. It was a good site. Then i went to doylesroom. I met so many friend until doylesroom went bye bye too. The new doylesroom I dont like as much. So I stick to Fulltilt. The best way to learn is to play.

I learned online by playing with play chips on partypoker. I then worked with a mate who taught me a lot more about poker strategy. Then i started reading books/articles.

Well I learned to play in school, for my lunch money. But that was 5 card poker. I learned texas on line. I do love all games of poker. And I do love to gamble.
