Interact with players or not?

When you're playing live poker, do you prefer to be quiet and observant, or do you prefer to chat and get to know the players?
I think you can perform much better when you talk to other players.
The first time I played live poker I didn't know anybody and it made me really nervous, nobody talked to me and they all knew each other.
It made me uncomfortable.

If it is people i don't know, then i give very little away. Exactly this situation happened in Aspers in Newcastle, playing 0.50/1. Everybody seemed to know each other and the banter was rife amongst them, they seemed more interested in the camaraderie than the poker, it was a profitable night for me.

I love socializing in live ring games ; pleasant talk helps pass the time as you wait for strong starting cards . In live tournaments you need to concentrate more on the opponents and their ranges/styles . For online play you might have 2 or more tables going so chat again becomes a distraction.

if chatting gives you some advantage and you get to know the players then use it if it interferes with your game, it's better not to use communication just play your game

I prefer to be quiet and observant when playing live poker. I find that staying focused on the game and analyzing my opponents behavior helps me make better decisions and avoid giving away any tells

I always like to help other people. If I can help solve any doubts, it's fine for me. Whenever I need help and ask in the forum, there's always someone willing to help. Also, interacting with others allows me to increase my level in CardsChat and have access to most of the freerolls.
