Display Preferences: BB or Chips

I prefer BB perspective. The relative chip count means nothing cause as you advanced the stack gets bigger, just a number. The amount of blinds you have vs the other players is whats valuable and giving you pot odds or decisions in push/fold.

It seems to me that it's what you get used to in the first place but it would be better if someone started with BB from the beginning of playing.

I like to see the actual chip count. It feels good to see it gather. I prefer to calculate the amount of BB in my head just to have a benchmark.

I’m used to having chip stacks but I see some people prefer having BB as well, you see on some the streams on twitch some will have BB and some just have chips, I guess personal preference but shouldn’t be to hard to work out how many blinds you have

I'm a beginner, I discovered two days ago about this function in PS, at the moment I'm switching, I would say that I leave it on the chips and sometimes switch to see the bb of each player.

I use BB in tournaments (in cash games not).
But I only switch to BB Display when i am shorter.
Because i want to know if I have 20, 15 or 10 BB ...for special moves.

I prefer chips. Big blinds is good, but I like to know where I stand at the table.

ACR just recent added the BB feature and I'm really enjoying it.
Been going that route exclusively the past week or so. I find it especially useful in cash games. Helps me focus more on the cards than the money aspect.

But poker isn't a card game...
It is a betting game!
It is not about having "good cards"....
It is about making profitable bets!

If your opponents give you favorable pot odds then you can
play even the worst hand.

I think the "money aspect" is much more important than the cards....


I prefer to watch chip count instead of BB...
If you cannot instantly tell how many BB a stack represents, then how are you
gonna calculate pot odds or implied odds during a hand ?

I always played with chips and changed to see what it was like to play with BB and I didn't get used to it, I prefer chips and mentally doing BB numbers.

I still use Chips. However if someone all-in or I need to all-in I would use BB as it just a click and made decision based on that. I tried use BB in early tourney, it's disasturous as BB is not really relevant I think.

I started using it on ACR and now I prefer the BB option. Its is just better for me honestly, sometimes after I run deep I will switch back just to check my chip total and I am like holy cow, thats alot of chips, even though it might only be 30-50 bb

I find my self switching back and forth repeatedly. The BB makes it easier for sure, but for some reason I feel more comfortable seeing the chip count.

Easy: use both at the same time. Set either chips in the client and BBs in your HUD or vice versa.

Why would you deprive yourself of all the edge you can get?

Be careful though. Some HUDs will keep reporting your BBs with the previous hand's limits instead of the current limits. So you'll have to calculate a bit only during the first hand after the blinds increased if you're displaying stack size in BBs in such a HUD.

I still continue with my stack in chips, I consider positive the fact of having to be thinking about how many blinds I have and how many the rest of the players have, after several years of play it is a custom that I consider positive if we take into account that in the game Live all this you have to calculate.

I definitely prefer the chips displayed in BB. Saves having to do the calculations myself when multi tabling.
