Do you respond to comments in a game online?

I play 4 tables, sometimes I can't even focus on them, so I leave the conversation to live poker too

I don't usually follow what's going on the chat but if I someone is saying something to me, I'll try to answer it if it's not negative.

I am not interested in comments during the game, especially if they are comments from my opponents. I see such comments only as a way to distract my attention. I do not see any benefit from the conversations, and therefore I do not see any sense in responding to criticism or remarks.

When pertinent discussions are held, I answer because I think it makes sense, but when insults are brought ... no!

I do not respond to comments because I do not have time for it. It is better to focus on the game and not be distracted by conversations.

Mostly only answer in CC club games.
In other games, players are unfamiliar to me and often I just don't have enough time to talk, especially if I have started a lot of tables

LOL!! I know what you're saying. Since I was a child I have never really liked being told what to do. Around forty years ago a salesman where I worked once remarked, "It seems like when you tell Emily to speed up, she slows down." Once while shooting skeet I'd just missed an easy target, so before loading my gun and calling for the next target I closed my eyes and took a deep breath to get over it. From behind me I heard someone say "Keep it moving." That was my signal to slow down even more. LOL!!

I stopped responding for the most part in chat. It isn't only because I don't want to get into a "fake" fight and have some clown follow me around and abuse me in chat, (it has happened a few times before) so I don't even respond.
Biggest reason I have stopped is because I don't pay attention to all that is happening at the table, if I am conversing back and forth. Again, I don't mean someone being rude and I respond, I mean someone people I like and talk to them. Next thing I know I have no idea about betting patterns etc...

I think online poker is not the best place to chat. In live poker, it is always interesting to talk and joke during the game, but online spending time typing is an unacceptable luxury.

It depends. There are times that i respond and have a little fun chatting with fun players or with players that you create some kind of respect, but only in this cases!

I'm good with the fun banter and chatter - nothing poker related. Like to talk with good folks. Players that are arrogant and condescending you just have to ignore and consider the source.
