I turn off all chat at the table or any table I play at as not to be distracted. If there are any insults I would never know about it. Capo1014

oh yes I do respond. If someone is wound up and insulting me. I'll try and make sure they get more wound up. People make mistakes when they are angry, so I try and get them as angry as I can. It really doesn't bother me what people who don't know me say about me. (This goes for everything, not just poker)

Insults and chirping used to bother me at tables. Until I realized a couple important things.

Number one. Always. ALWAYS fire back. I’ve learned in many moons on this planet that a LOT OF PEOPLE can dish the shit but very very few can actually stand the heat of the kitchen. So FIRE BACK.

Number two. Again, what I’ve learned over time. Most people on the intra-net will fire off the insults when they’re running bad. Rarely hear chirping when you’re up to 600K in chips.
So keep the heat on those people. And they’ll hand you their stack a lot of the time.

I don’t let the few who actually read my posts bother me with their yammering. Most of the time, I don’t GAF what you think. So let fly. You ain’t hurtin my feelings.

If they are spewing bullshit in chat it means they are not playing optimally, their mind is on the bullshit, there's no need to be abusive, a little jab occasionally keeps them tilted.

Negative freeroll. Only thing it can do is take attention away from the game. I just turn it off. Although in the CC freerolls when I play I'll say gl and congrats if we make FT. Other than that, I only check to see if a guy tilts when he gets punished.

I mute all the players -- I do not like the negative chatter at all, I find it juvenile and disruptive. And this may just be me but I find when people say 'Nice Hand' I find that incorrect -- it should be 'Nicely Played' but this is just a quirk I have had since I started playing poker.

It’s not as bad as Stars before Black Friday but it’s there and it always makes me laugh when players here imply that it “doesn’t happen in OUR CC freerolls”

What annoys me about BetOnline is that you have to turn chat off for every tourney you enter. I thought turning it off in the settings would keep it off, but it was back on the next tourney I was in. When people are rude, it makes me focus too much on them. I prefer to see nothing in chat, so I focus on their play, not on what they are saying.

I use to not respond, only in live games, home games with my pals. In these pandemic days, sometimes I myself complain about the Apps I play, but I try not to insult the others players. If I see someone bluffing too much, or playing in a way that I don't like, as if they were in a freeroll, I complain to them as well, but never - or almost never - in a offensive way.

No one is saying it never happens in CC games, it is rare when it happens and if reported the offending member is dealt with.

I usually ignore Ignorant people who insult others playing on-line Poker, as they get some kind of pleasure from trolling others and if you show that it gets to you it just encourages them to carry on and do more.
Some times they do it in order to put you on Tilt and try to win games the only way they know how to and get you annoyed so you will lose by making bad decisions.

You usually find they are very lonely, sad individuals and because they cannot find something good or Intelligent to say about someone, they resort to insults because it is the way they have been treated in the past by their parents or teachers or even someone in a higher position at work, and they do not have the guts to say things to them, so they take it out from the safety of their own tiny little World that no one can get to them and they think they can say whatever they want.
Ignore these sad, tiny, mindless individuals and they will eventually crawl back into the holes they came from.
