On GG poker you get a limited amount of play chips per day, unlike e.g. pokerstars where you can buy them. On pokerstars plenty of players will just see any flop for any bet below all-in, On GG you only have 2 table values, that's it. And in the lower one people practice a bit and then play the higher one. I started off with about 150k chips after a couple of days collecting free chips without playing. In about a month i had about 13 million chips and had lost interest a bit playing for achievement only. And with play chips people will play pretty reckless indeed. But it's a good test, if you're not able to get your chip count up even against bad players and bingo players, it might not be a good idea to play for real money

Play money can be useful when you are a totally beginner, but unfortunately the players there are also beginners and playing every card with all-in. I suggest to go to freerolls. There are also a lot of maniacs, but you can get a real picture about the tournaments and you can learn something, not just 'all-in with every hand' tactics.

if you want to focus on specific things, such as position, testing out your three-betting ranges (both bluffs and value), play money can be helpful. A feel for your own game and attention to what's happening can improve. However, you'll never be able to simulate a situation with real money. But practice is practice. There are many things to learn, where you dont focus on the outcome.

There's much difference between play money and real money games.
It's about the same like if you play a freeroll or a 100$ buyin MTT.

I would only do play money until you understand the basics, then make some money with freerolls and then play with the winnings of the freerolls.

This is the correct answer, and a good way to get started in poker if you are a beginner.
