Subbing for the drama. Daniel Cates was just on QJ Radio. He is one hell of a player but a terrible interview.

Well tbh any news is better than the "no news" that we have been getting over the last year. Hopefully its true, no doubt bad for the online game that we would have one huge operator, but better than the alternative.

Heres hoping anyway, and you'd never know facebook/zynga might at last get their act together if it is true.

Wow, this entire DOJ/FT/PS situation is so very convaluted. Nobody will know anything for sure until it actually happens and is announced by the proper authorities. It seems to me that if anything happens at all, it would be the PS/FT thing first. Then, we all must just wait for our gov officials to get their freaking heads on straight and open the floodgates!

Why would it be bad for pokerstars to be owning FTP?

This in effect is the best possible outcome, much better than any other company. Pokerstars are trusted and the only site that I think most trust with their funds, especially since post black friday.

People are much more likely to flood back to FTP if pokerstars do own it, anyone else and I bet the player pool would be much less.

Win/win for pokerstars and win/win for poker players too.

Because they would have even more of a monopoly. Even though I think they are one of the best sites for having players best interests at heart, they are still a business.

If true, over/under on when it's back online?

I love PS as much as anyone but what I think tenbob is referring to is a monopoly. When you have more competition you get lower rake better bonuses etc. Stars is a great company and them buying tilt is much much better than the alternative of Tilt just dying but if they become, for all intents and purposes the only game in town, then you will see less bonuses, higher rake etc.

I hope we can cash out before I forget my FTP password. And my old address is in the FTP database.. I hope that's not a problem.

tbh i would rather have the other "big" poker site be a rival to pokerstars, not owned by them, healthy competition = good for us, monopoly = bad

In principle I agree with you. I posted similar earlier in the thread. However, players with money stuck on Tilt getting paid > long term monopoly worries.

true but that would happen with any takeover regardless of who it is, the DOJ will make sure of that, hence why GBT failed

Yep. Give me my dollars now and we can worry about competitive balance later.

I'm in the it doesn't make sense side of the fence.

Buying out the competion is often a great buisness move. Is FT competion at this point? ... I'd say no. Not operating for about a year and big liabilities on their books.

Reentering the US market? If they could Stars wouldn't need FT to do this. Stars already worked out a DOJ deal ... Tilt has not. Lets not forget the fact that poker laws are still the same today as they were when black friday hit.

The source was the CEO of Chili poker and done via twitter (according to pocket 5s)? Ok I'll give you this guy knows more about the inside workings of running a poker site then us. Realistically though it seems very unlikely that he would know much about high level PS stuff.

I feel bad making a new thread but dont want this info lost elsewhere but cliffs are included my source I trust a lot.

Anyways the deal is already done by what I am told;

Players will be paid within 90 days
FTP will be open in the US market
Isai will be stepping down from the company

If these statements are true I feel that Isai deserves all our thanks+ business in the future with his company he is bailing out the igaming industry's tarnished reputation

Still makes zero sense to me but whatever.
