888 changing bonus policy May 25

Just a reminder that in just over 2 days the new bonus policy takes effect on 888.

On the 25th all bets and wagers made will use money from your account leaving the bonus untouched, unless you have $0 in your account, in which case you can bet or wager using bonus funds.
Not only that, but I got another email today that announces another change. Starting on June 1 bonus money can only be used on "selected" games.

Here's the original email and the new email 888 sent out, I also included the section from the terms and conditions in the user agreement...

Sure seems to be going downhill pretty quick. From the 3 month connection issues, the removal of lvl freerolls and now this. Seems maybe they only make $$ from the sports book. I still have a few active nhl bets, they probably should have offered to cxl all outstanding bets. The only bright spot is the beloved CC 888 rep.

I've already used up all my bonuses and I plan to withdraw my bankroll tomorrow while I can before they start penalizing you for withdrawals.

I don't know who thought that threatening to take away outstanding bonuses, tickets and the daily spin if you make a withdrawal was a good idea.

I understand where they're coming from since this is what PStars and other sites do, when you qualify for a bonus and make billions of $$ but do not satisfy the play through requirement the monies made via that bonus are forfeit if you withdraw any part of those funds. Regarding the "selected" bonus applicability, vis a vis poker, casino or sports this has been in effect as well. However, using up bankroll cash before using bonus funds is just plain stupid. There is no point to playing anything that has bonus as a carrot.

It was already quite hard to actually clear bonuses at 888, especially casino bonuses.
Most of them had wagering requirements where you have to wager 100x the bonus to clear the bonus, and any winnings.
It was heavily weighted to slots too. If you got a $10 casino bonus you'd have to wager $1000 playing slots, but for blackjack you would have to wager $10,000 to clear that $10 bonus as it only counts as 10%. In slots wagering $10 counts as $10 towards clearing a bonus while in BJ a $10 wager only counts as $1 towards clearing a bonus.

I guess we'll soon see how it goes.

I rarely deposit, but when I did I almost always waited until there was a good bonus involved. Even if clearing them was rare (but not impossible) they were still good for racking up points to level up.
Now, I don't see any reason for me to deposit.

I too got this mail. But I rarely use a Bonus code to deposit. I only deposit when there is a Free sports bets codes available.
Recently I was converting my Casino freeplay into poker bonus by requesting to the Support but now I need to adapt a Vigilant approach.

Well I still don't know if we use to play a tourney by bonus money and win some real money then Would it be in bonus wallet or real money wallet???

Funny enough, on today's spin I won a $10 casino freeplay.

After giving it some thought I think I've figured out a loophole that will allow me to use the bonus without having any money come off my bankroll.:evil:

I'll get that bonus in 2 days, right after the new terms come into effect, so I'll know if it works soon.

yes i think he was kidding. i mean i appreciate what the rep is trying to do here but a lot of times he does not even know answers to basic questions about the product he is representing.

888 seems to be really going downhill. they would have been better off to not ignore customer feedback in the past. a lot of issues and thats why many players left. i still like to play there but i really dont get these guys at all to be honest.

No level 100 there suits me great level 60 and 80 though if win more money there maybe will stop withdrawing most of it until use that 100k ticket anyway.
Compulsive people who lack patience or maybe just need some money for life expenses are going to suffer though looking at these changes with the withdrawals and the forfeits.
Only good thing that will come out of this is smaller fields though as a silver lining for those that are still playing.

Nice to see the $25k Elite is still there and that there is a level 60+, although it is reduced from $6k to $5k.

It is a shame that the 80+ and 100+ has been combined to just 1 $10k game for 80+, but it could have been worse.

On a positive note I got my $10 casino bonus from the spin and was successfully able to use it without using my bankroll first as the workaround I figured out does work.

Let me get this straight. To get this 'bonus' money I have to :

1) First deposit and lose my own money, quickly
2) Play with the bonus money for hours on end until I've likely lose it back to the house, or maybe profited (less likely, as I have to be a losing to player to start with), on a selection of games which no doubt aren't likely to increase my chances of clearing this.

Doesn't look like a strong incentive to play there, or am I missing something and these bonuses are still worth having somehow?

There is a way to use a bonus without using any of your bankroll.
When you get a bonus you first use your bankroll to register for tournaments (make sure they don't start for at least several hours). After this your bankroll will be tied up and you can then use the bonus without affecting your bankroll.
When the bonus is gone, or you are done playing it for the time being, you simply unregister for those tournaments and restore your bankroll.

I did it the other day and it works just fine. I had $15.60 cash and a $10 casino bonus, I registered for $15.60 worth of tourneys then used the bonus until there was just $0.03 left then unregistered for the tourneys...
