CardsChat is my favourite poker forum and I have just added another reason for that.

When I cannot log into my favourite online poker Room , I just have to check CardsChat, too see if other members around the world are having the same problem. Thanks for your posts guys, one less thing for me to stress about :).

I was about to go to PS but didn't come in and wondered if it was my laptop or if they were having problems again. But now I know it was Andyreas who had cast a spell on PS
I just had the same problem. That's why I came here to CC. Figured someone here would know what was going on.

I was able to cash, barely, in one of CC's US daily free rolls on Stars last night, obviously they shut down to fix this software glitch, I would think this will be an easily solved fix & Stars will be up & running soon.

It's a poker star disaster
They have been one of the worst platforms on the market for a long time
This is the fourth time the system has failed
Right on time for the best tournaments and sports betting

I’m sure it’s because they’re so overtaxed snooping on millions of computers worldwide. Think about it. That’s going to place a huge demand on their servers and this is the result. — near daily outages —

Either that or they’ve picked the WRONG computers to snoop. Some folks are pretty handy at hacking and aren’t going to take too kindly to Pokerstars trying to snoop into their private affairs.
Can you elaborate on this snooping please? I see that's the topic you mentioned in second thread so far. What do you mean by snooping? That PS is checking the programs that's running on player's computer while he's logged in? (but this is a well-know thing and not hidden) Or there is something else?

I took this event again to motivate and complete my GGPoker verification.

I'm verified now and have to say they seem to have good promos indeed but oh man, that software and App is horrible!

Say what you want about PS but at least their software and app are neat and clean without all those horrible graphics and icons no one needs.

Server restart coming up on PS soon. Maybe in an attempt to fix the problems and/or improve security against DDOS attacks?

That's to hope for. 🙏

Although the restart was already announced before yesterday's downtime.

But they should be aware of the problem since a few weeks back after the first attack.

Problems at pokerstars have become permanent, and why they do not say, the situation is not pleasant, and most importantly, the problem was solved for quite a long time, for 10 hours, this is a bad trend on the largest poker room.

I think GGPoker took over since quite a while based on player volume, no? 🤔

But I agree, it's a very bad trend indeed. Hope they manage to overcome it.

PS is actively scanning your computer every second you’re logged in to see what other software you’re running. It’s a huge invasion of privacy that we all “agree” to by default because PS won’t let us use their software if we don’t “agree”.

What other software do we acknowledge and authorize to do that? By way of comparison, Google monitors the info that you overly enter into their search box. They monitor your location when you opt to let them. Yes, they also monitor your IP address (as does everybody), but you have the ability to hide that info using a proxy and/or VPN. They monitor the browser that you’re entering that info to but NOT what other software you’re using at the time.

Their argument is that PS is keeping cheating in check. Nobody else seems to have taken that line. There are other ways to monitor for cheating that do not require monitoring anything other than the inputs that I make within the PS application itself (NOT outside that application).

PS says they’re only looking for specific “banned” applications. Do you “know” this to be true? I don’t. All I “know” is that some offshore server tied to gambling with a spotty legal history is actively collecting information from my computer.

“Whoever” is behind the PS firewall knows when you log in to your banking Apps, when you make a passport application, when you register your firearms, when you order a prescription, when you seek advice on a mental health app, when you apply for a social security number, etc, etc. And this is just what they publicly acknowledge that they’re monitoring.

I started on playing poker online with Poker Stars but now I spend most of my time on 888 Poker. Not so much hassle and more fun to play there
