Warning regarding PokerStars

They told me that the money was transferred to a different account but after that I don't know what happened. It strikes me as very odd that they now know or should know who the thief is but I have no doubt that after the recent 'server issues' that brought the poker site to a standstill that on the back of this they were hacked and people have lost their login information.

Its highly unlikely that PokerStars would steal $100. Does your brother use auto sign in or remember my password function ? Someone could have gained remote access to his computer / laptop and signed in and then transfered his funds to themselves.

Show the support response that they literally responded to the appeal to them. Usually in such cases they request log files. I had an experience when I asked for a refund, because I turned off the light and I returned the buy-in back. Either you're not telling us something or it's something else.

can someone give Oscar to this guy and his friend, that has brother and his naphew whos friend with his trainers brother have asked that girls phone number, but she wrote her mothers number instead of her own number and when he made that call he found out that her mom has a pay per minute phone number and that's how he lost $100. Oscar for the best scenario is guaranteed.

What to do now, when we know who is guilty?

Option A)
Go to court, hire lawyers and crack that son of a pokerstars for 10 million bucks cause it happened to you!

Option B)
Scan your incoming and outgoing logs of traffic for unwanted activity. Because most probably when you and your brother are downloading your favorite pron videos - you're also getting a fresh viruses that are not recognised by your antivirus software... These fresh viruses will be detected by antivirus companies in the year 2019. Before that date those who made those trojans, exploits, keyloggers and so on, they're using their software on your PC for their good. They can mine cryptocurrencies, search for UFOs and so on. Well browsing your logs is one of the options. Using your passwords is another.

You can request a detailed log of your recent games and activity on pokerstars by contacting support... Hand history will show who won your 100 pennies, was it a single user who won it or someone who used your account have lost 100 dollars to many different players. In case if your 100 dollars have been split between 10 different players I believe that you need to browse your real life drunk'n'drugs activity and search for memory losses of those around you, who have access to your account.

Thank you but no one is going to court because of 100$, even because we live in a different country from PS office, as you can see by the language in the support response to my brother which i posted above, so you can imagine that process costs would be more than that.
I myself sold my funds already.

They can check where the money went, thats thereason why I closed my PS account almost 1 year ago, i have benn on a cash table more than 6 hours and I make 600$ from 50$ and these 2 players was having the same country, and every time they was playing like was justbone guy or they was together , i report that ,and they investigate but my money was lost and the info was confidential the said,so even if they catch the guy I don t get any refund...

Yes i told my brother to check where the funds went but he said he couldnt track anything because his account was blocked. I told him to ask support for this info but no response yet.

This is the fun part. After that they admitted the hack and even gave the hackers account name to my brother. "PerryPw" as you can see in these emails:

And now they are trying to say that my brother is friend of this PerryPw because they have sent an email telling that my brother's account wont be unlocked untill he says what is his relation to the hacker.
Its amazing how they turn themselves into victims while my brother is the one who lost hist money because of a bad security system.
He told PS twice that he didnt know who PerryPw was but they keep sending him the same email, asking him to say if he knows the guy.
Thats insulting tbh.

You have got confused over the threads. I am not the one with the brother.I didn't say that Pokerstars stole anything. My account was hacked but I never divulged my password or my handle to anyone and I don't have it written anywhere in email or a password programme. The only place it exists is in my head so difficult to understand how I lost my money....unless....Pokerstars were hacked the other week but are not admitting it.

My brother pc could have been hacked as well as PS database.

And the problem to me is not the risk of getting hacked.
Everyone can get hacked. Even NASA, FBI, Banks and Governments get hacked.
The thing is pokerstars not only profit with their poor security system, by selling more security(LOL)
And also they wont guarantee any money you deposit with them. If you deposit 1000$ on Pokerstars and their database get hacked in the other day. then you will lose you money.

Im pretty sure its their right to have a trash ToS like that, but its also my right not to play there anymore and to warn people who still do.

Sorry, but I have to disagree with you and say that PokerStars is not responsible for this. They have multiple security features in play so that password bots can not just run all day and try to crack passwords - it doesn't work like that. It sounds like your brother was targeted by an individual and may have unknowingly set himself up. You say there was no password shared, but how about his other accounts, does he use the same password for everything? Also where did the money go, on the tables, or a transfer? PokerStars would be responsible if it was their system that got hacked and the hackers did this to many different accounts, but a single personal account being hacked is 99% most likely the fault of the account owner. If PokerStars DID accept responsibility for this and credit your brother $100, they would also be opening themselves up to trouble by allowing many others to make the same claim fraudulently to try to cash in on free money.

this is unlikely the case because my brother's PC had many other passwords stored like bank, credit card, social medias etc and nothing else was hacked/compromised. Only his PS account was hacked.
this makes me believe PS database was hacked, not my brother's PC.

its fun how after a few screenshots the haters went away and got silenced.

as a new member here, i would like to ask if there is any possibility of a PS staff to read/comment in this forum.

following on this post my account was hacked yesterday, someone made several attempts to deposit money on to my account to the tune of over £1200 in total, fortunately no transaction went through, however poker stars have a DUTY to protect customer data in line with the law and the data protection act, they have consequently instructed me to jump through various hoops to secure my account, won’t be touching this site again!
Bearing in mind they know the I.p address of the hacker in my opinion they should be investigating this as fraud or passing details on to the relevant agencies not just saying ‘oh well’

I skimmed through this thread so if it was mentioned I apologize but if you download torrents there is a good chance you will eventually download a password stealer.

Get MalwareBytes. It found and quarantined one on my machine.


It is the last antivirus you will ever need as it has stopped every virus before it has gotten onto my computer.

If you dont have MalwareBytes you should set your password to 2 step authentication which will prevent this from happening.

Pokerstars has many free security features. In addition to your password you can set a PIN.

Also there is a mobile authorisation feature. This can be use on any cellphone not only smartphones. Once activated if there is any suspicious activity like log in from a different country or different IP address they lock your account and send you a SMS with unlock code.

I would happily accept someone depositing $1200 to any of my poker accounts. Instead I get small transfers while playing but they only happen on the cash tables

Trump is a greedy troll and he most definitely would steal the change out of your couch if given the chance........lol.

Seriously though, I have had a PS account for as long as I have been a member here and not once have I had any problems with my account.

They may have asked OPs brother who this PerryPw was because maybe the hack came from the same IP address.

All your brother had to do was answer a few personal questions or post personal info on a social media site.
If his PW is a pets name, mothers maiden name, city of birth, date of birth, favorite sport.
I could go on.
There are many ways people can fish for info on their intended mark without the mark even knowing that they may have inadvertently given personal info that could be used to hack, the brother may have thought it was a harmless discussion, in any case, the brother lost his money because he was naive.

I have been with cardschat long enough to see complaints like this that don't amount to much more than someone who sucks at poker and needs a way to blame his losses, so he chooses to blame the site.

TBH, if you're going to sully a name of a poker site, blame a less reputable site, it will be more believable.

If your brother is so hard done by, maybe he needs a "gofundme" page.

I never heard something similar ,usually when I use different device ,PS informs me instantly that I was connected from different ip .Sorry for your brother's lost .It's a matter of security which has poker room if he was been hacked .Thanks for info

I have a story like yours on Pokerstars, but more strange: i had one account hacked (i didn't share the password, there's no doubt about and no questions), i contacted the support and they told me the same story.
But here's the catch: i had 0.02$ there, and when they spoke to me, they said that i had 240$ in the account! Someone hacked to deposit there money and play!
I never understood what was going on.
