Do you play satellites?

I have played this week the partypoker satellites, they most of time have high overlay, and i have got very nice results with them at the moment, my bankroll is growing.

What do you think about satellites and bankroll growing?

Do you use to play satellites and where?

Recently, I often play satellites because I stopped making deposits in the rooms. I'm trying to qualify for tournaments through freerolls or for a very small fee. I began to feel much better because I don't spend my money anymore.

I have played a few over the years, and they are a great way to proceed onto bigger MTT games at a low price. Recently on Pokerstars they had a free-roll that paid the top 100 an $11.00 buy-in ticket, to a Sunday million Final, and there were over 12,000 entrants in the free-roll and I finished 52nd, winning the top ticket.
I was also in a satellite, that gave you access to another satellite game and the top 5 would play a televised game against 5 top professiol players, but unfortunately was held up at work and missed the first hour of the game and was down to 15 BBs when I got home.
Still it cost me nothing but a little time I spent playing and that has never bothered me, Satellites are worth playing especially the free-rolls, and even some of the micro stake buy-ins can reap big rewards if you make the money in the final, it is all down to time spent playing and if you consider that to be important to you then give them a miss, but if you have time to spare, Go for it, nothing ventured, nothing gained.

That week, I won$ 30 in a freeroll tournament (taking 3rd place). I was pleased. For me, this is the first big win in such a tournament as freeroll.

I play the satellites that Bodog offers, they have a lot of satellites for their main tournament that start from 0.50 cents and it is a good opportunity to play the Bodog Million

I think playing different formats can teach you different things about the game. Satellites that pay multiple seats are good in how they emphasize survival skills. Satellites that pay 1 seat are good in practicing playing for the win and going for it.

I play them for practice especially if they're freeroll though from a risk/reward perspective they probably aren't worth it unless you can win an entry to a tournament that's way above what your bankroll supports.
