in my opinion ability
but much more luck than skill.
because with skill you can reach the prize pool but to reach the final table it has to be luck with skill more luck than skill

The thing is that you don't have to win very often!

For example, if we take freerolls from CC as an example, then it is enough to get into the TOP 3 places out of about 60 freerolls 3-5 times a month in order to be in high positions according to the profit rating.

For example, here are screenshots from this month and last quarter, and i haven't won very many times:

It's a combination between skill, luck and patience. You need to have the skill and patience to wait for your luck

It depends, if you play a hyper turbo tournament, you rarely play luck, you have your skills, but if you play on a Holdem table without limits, you put your skills to the test. Greetings.

Hello. I think that poker is more about skills because if you're lucky you can win few hands and if you have skills you can don't lose much more hands.

Its both obviously. Now what is a bigger factor or ratio between them depends. On the type of poker game you play. On the type of poker player you are.

I personally have flipped from one opinion do another on the matter but learning some experiences from objectively good players and seeing some stuff, I do believe luck is the bigger factor. The game is labelled as gambling for a reason, with which I agree. All you do in poker is maneuver yourself into positions where you have the best odds. Key word here odds.

I will answer indirectly
Imagine in a heads up match
a very good and a very lucky player
Who do you think will win?

According to some professionals and coaches, the share of luck linked to poker is greatly reduced, if I am not mistaken 10 to 15%. The rest is not just skill, but knowledge and study.

Poker is about skill over all and luck is not what decides things overall. Luck as people call it is based on the short term results at any given moment. Yes you aces lost to a trashy hand today but when your only supposed to win 5 of 6 times we consider us unlucky when that 6th time happens. The better you play the game the less luck will affect the game. Also how players play the game affects luck. I have seen players complain whent he aces get cracked and wonder why. What they did is jus call on the button with 4 other limper. They go 7 handed to the flop and forget they odd of winning is small with so many people in the hand.

I think that regular players will talk about luck, and amateurs about skill

It's a bit of both, but it's hard for me to be able to say in what percentage each one, there are times when luck can be more than ability and vice versa, but sometimes I think it's more luck in people who just play for the sake of playing and not spend part of their time studying and trying to improve their game and applying what they have learned

I agree with you, you can depend on luck to win a tournament but when playing several it is the skill that will help you

Of course it is both luck and skill. But a skillful player knows what hands have the most value at different stages in a tournament. This way, when you
do get lucky you get paid accordingly. If you call off 30% of your stack preflop, late in a tournament then this is very foolish. It does take luck to finish a tournament, but a skillful player gets paid when he gets lucky
