I don't think there is a simple set of instructions on how to play freerolls. It totally depends on what kind of freerol you play but in general it's just poker and where you have to pay attention to it in normal tournaments it's the same in freerols. how do the people play at your table and is it hyper or turbo etc. The best freerols are the silver and platinum freerols from cardschat to the bronze, there are usually too many strangers in the tournament and that damages the tournament because there are too many donks. And then there is a situation like in the normal non cardschat freerols. If you don't have a platinum level yet, then it definitely makes sense to try to get one as soon as possible because the best freerols are still the platinum freerols

In general, now there are normal freerolls only from cardschat. There are very few freerolls from other poker schools with a small number of participants. And before, during the boom of online poker, there were a lot of great freerolls. I mainly played from 2007 to 2011. Then i didn’t play them for a long time, and now, since the end of 2019, i’ve been playing only freerolls from cardschat. But i don't see them as a way to make money, but rather as training to play on strong fields...
Serious money can only be earned in various formats of games for your own money. And the starting bankroll can be won in freerolls. But given the variance, it can take several months, for example, to win 100 buy-ins for play on limit $1.10

Yes. I can see that right now. I just get an upgrade to silver. I played my first freeroll in silver. It Could be slightly different than the bronze freerolls. and perhaps the platinum freerrolls could be too. The most important difference maybe it's the number of players.

Freerolls vary enormously from site to site and even on the same site (private freerolls from CardsChat tend to be players who are interested in improving and so players usually try to play reasonably; some other freerolls people will jam any two cards and do bad bluffs all over the place). They also various dramatically based on structure - hyperturbos tend to be far more gambly and you get lots more inexperienced players playing them. Turbos tend to have more patient players, lots of nits set mining and overplaying big pocket pairs.

For hyperturbos - people tend to fold to a modest raise at similar rates to a shove, and tend to only reshove if they have a good hand, so you can steal more with smaller raises and fold to most shoves. People also tend to call with any hand they think is 'good' (any Ace, any two broadway, any pocket pair) so you can exploitatively shove your hands that do well versus this calling range and expect to get called frequently.

Freerolls vs. free tickets..

The free-roll strategy is simple: be LAG, emphasis on L, play like you don't care, to build the stack. If stack is built enough, switch to moderate LAG.
If it's a good MTT you got in, by winning a ticket, I would stick to normal MTT play. Everybody playing got to the tourney by winning a ticket, you can expect less crazy free-roll play in those MTT's. Those "next step" MTT'S are fun, but hard to win.

When you play a freeroll, don't bluff.Forget about all the poker strategy articles you read, because the world of freerols works differently. It's like being near a black hole that violates the laws of physics.

This is because there is only one "tournament life". And this should be taken very seriously!

Strategies in freerolls have worked for me personally, number one is to know the best possible combinations with your hands another strategy is to always play many hands, from time to time Show your hands so they can see if you have good cards, You must also demonstrate a record in betting among other strategies to win better tournaments:D

And after you learn and master this "basic strategy" of the game, you can already start learning how to make adjustments for different types of players, how to effectively use their statistics parameters. Also, analyze various spots in the icm calculator (for push/fold stage), which also increases the skill, because information is deposited in the subconscious and goes into the gaming experience.

Ok. That was a very good review. I will keep it in mind. 🤘

More practice is the best strategy. It is important not to miss your chance. He will definitely be there. Thanks to practice, the skill of the game will appear and there will be a positive result.

There is no magic formula for winning poker tournaments, especially when it comes to freerolls where the vast majority of players who participate are recreational and play anyway, limping every hand, calling anything and going all-in. with any pair. The strategy I usually use is at the beginning of the tournament to play only with strong hands, looking to double the chips and from the middle to the end play a little more aggressive, trying to get to the money and the final table, but it's still not easy. Good luck at the tables buddy.:)

I share your idea. But. for the beginning... just play like you don't care. Is still hard to do for me. Is for that my stack goes bad so fast. I keep trying.

As I've read from a few, there's a huge variety of players style and strategies you may use at the freerolls.

Are they the easy to join ones? Are they the platinum ones we find here at CC? On which platform?

One thing I would recommend is having a HUD, understanding the player types by stats, studying before playing with something like Flopzilla or any other related, and then understanding the different stages of a tourney.

And this is what I do mostly.

There's also GTO and its related solvers and all...

There's a wide range of strategies, study and practices for freerolls.

But definitely nothing beats practice.

Turbos tend to have more patient players :hmmmm2:
Cardchat has like less than 5 turbo games every single month yet there are too many people here who act otherwise for whatever reason ...

If you are unable to re-buy then I advise you to fold until there is at least a middle hand, because by calling you will lose your stack very quickly. Basically, all players in freerolls go all in regardless of their cards. In such games, the main thing is to have patience, play only in the small and big blinds until there is a medium or premium hand for allin;)

Haha :deal: you must share your strategy. you'll see if is infallible and then you can make it perfect. . No man. I understand. and if I say. I was waiting someone telling something like that. Because where are the others who won every day...

I'm afraid that Ragnar's "strategy" isn't worth to be shared specially as he definitely does not win every day - it's probably once or twice per year (if even that) ...
