Allin or Fold GG

Does anyone play All-In or Fold on GG Poker? Does anyone have a larger sample size? Is it possible to play profitably?

I don’t think it’s possible to play profitably without the jackpot. I see a couple of regulars who I think play at 10–20 tables; they take most of the jackpots—sometimes two in a day—but I don’t know how many hands they play in a day.

A couple of regulars talk about averaging 10,000–15,000 hands before hitting the jackpot; I haven’t hit one in 32,000 hands, and I’m actually pretty far in the red.

You're spot on—AoF on GGPoker is virtually impossible to beat on pure table play alone because the rake is way too high relative to the 8bb stack sizes.
The mass-tabling regulars running 10–20 tables aren't making money from standard play; their profit comes down to three things:
* Daily AoF Leaderboards (this is where most of the actual EV lives)
* Fish Buffet Rakeback generated from high volume
* The Jackpot (pure variance)
Going 32,000 hands without hitting a jackpot is brutal, but unfortunately standard variance given the odds of hitting straight flushes or royals. If you aren't grinding massive volume to consistently cash near the top of the daily leaderboards, AoF is basically a rake trap.

In addition to the above there is also not much variation or development in playing push/fold poker with a 10BB stack for hours on end. In SnGs at least you have to adjust to different stack sizes and ICM, but in a game like this its just to memorize some charts and then put on repeat. As poker players I think, we should vote with our vallet and support good game formats, and this is certainly not one of them.

From what I’ve seen and heard, profitability in this format is almost entirely tied to jackpot distribution. If you’re unlucky and go tens of thousands of hands without hitting one, you’ll be deep in the red even if your decisions are solid. Conversely, a couple of jackpots can swing you back into profit.

So yes, it’s technically possible to play profitably, but only if you’re prepared for massive variance and can handle the grind. For most players, it feels more like gambling than poker strategy, since the edge is so dependent on hitting those rare payouts. If you’re looking for consistent,skill-based profit, traditional cash games or tournaments are a much healthier grind.

The regs who grind 10–20 tables are usually relying on massive volume, strong preflop strategy, rakeback, and the occasional jackpot to make the format worthwhile. Going 32,000 hands without a jackpot is definitely on the unlucky side, but I wouldn't judge the format based on one run alone.

I'd be interested to hear from someone with a few hundred thousand hands, because that's probably where you start getting a much clearer picture of the true profitability.
