According to your HH, nit (BTN) just calls, and BB (LAG-tard) raises.

That's what I mean, it could have been a misclick,,,but he's like 3% Vpip over 90 odd hands, so its either a MC or well I dont know what the hell he's trying to achieve with his call....maybe he is a weak nit who assumes the sb & bb will fold because they will realise he has entered the pot.....I dont know....I mean I could 4bet shove and nit insta calls and flips over Aces-Kings and I go into tilt mode for being a f###tard.....deffo a weird spot I found myself in lol

There are some of the strongest hands that he cant have here based on the action. Thus his range is capped.

lets say we are playing HU, for arguments sake you 3bet 1010+ AQ+. I raise you call. your range is capped in that the best hands it contains are 99/AJ.

How do you guys deal with this situation?

Here I'm up against a fellow TAG, only 50 hands on him but he's 24/20. He probably knows I am a TAG. Should we always raise the flop here? Seems so as another diamond ruins everything and as we don't have a passive image we could also be raising draws. Trouble is, whenever regs raise me on boards like this the first thing I think is 'he's got a set' so it just feels so obvious when I raise here.

How about vs different player types? I guess it's better against stations, LAGs and possibly nits who wont fold over pairs. Or if you have a very aggressive image yourself (I don't, there are way more aggro TAGs than me) but TAG vs TAG it sucks that they fold like 90%+ of the time. I still think raising is best though.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.05 BB (6 handed) - PokerStars Converter Tool from http://www.flopturnriver.com

CO ($6.52)
Hero (Button) ($6.80)
SB ($3.67)
BB ($8.06)
UTG ($1.84)
MP ($4.34)

Preflop: Hero is Button with 4

Flop: ($0.37) J

MP bets $0.22, Hero raises to $0.70, 1 fold

I've been thinking that I push villains off lately as well so I'm interested in the response, if this was a rainbow board I call behind, but as the fd is out I raise too, but I'm not sure how much we should bother with that its pretty dry otherwise and we need to basically hope he has AJ to give us action

Yeah he mostly has nothing here so he'll fold a lot. You raising with overs/FDs/etc too on this board?

Yeah I raise with a FD sometimes as a semi-bluff but he wont know that with only 50 hands on me. Occasionally I'll raise with complete air (including overs) if they cbet a lot, but mostly I'm folding with overs.

But if we peg him as a TAG (which includes cbetter + bet/folder) and we know he mostly has nothing here, then raising here as a bluff is never going to be too bad. That's all I meant. On top of which, if he's paying attention, and he probably will be, then he'll begin to notice your raising flop % is a bit out of whack, so he'll start making errors. Suddenly we start getting more value out of our monsters on the rare occasions we actually flop them.

I played this hand this morning vs a 21/17 cbet 85% 700hands.

IPoker, $0.10/$0.20 No Limit Hold'em Cash, 4 Players

CO: $20.40 (102 bb)
BTN: $21.50 (107.5 bb)
Hero (SB): $20 (100 bb)
BB: $20 (100 bb)

Preflop: Hero is SB with 8

CO folds, BTN raises to $0.60, Hero calls $0.50, BB folds

Flop: ($1.40) T

spade4.gif
(2 players)
Hero checks, BTN bets $0.80, Hero raises to $2.40, BTN folds

Results: $3 pot ($0.18 rake)
Final Board: T

I would sweat you, but I can't find my headset :/ I think they are normally done over skype these days, but can use teamviewer and things like that too.

I'm not sure about time differences n stuff, but I could nip out and get one as I needed one for doing some videos myself anyways, how long are you on for?

Yeah I'm raising here a lot, I believe " we fold out his equity share " is the phrase I'd use for my reasoning :)

How are the games on ipoker in the morning? I'm off work ill but I think I can muster up an hour of grinding.

I'll go get me a headset then, she's at work today so I have a rare house to myself, although if you listen hard enough you can still hear her whip cracking from a distance, because I'm attempting to shrink the washing pile while feeling like death lol
