Eh, not quit right, though useful as a start until we have a bigger sample. 30-hand sample is nothing. I think people don't really realize just how smal that really is.

Next few times you play, pay attention to what your stats look like after the first 30 hands at each table. Yes it will often reflect your true stats, but sometimes you'll be running like 35/30 or 8/6 or something. As another example, have you ever played live? Have you ever been card dead for an hour before while playing live? This is about 30 hands.

And, just to hammer it home: 6/3 in 30 hands is VPIP = 2/30, PFR = 1/30. It's pretty easy to only see 1 or 2 playable hands in a set of 30.

Yes, sorry, was also responding to alfie's VERY detailed points. The truth is we don't have enough info to draw the types of conclusions that alfie wants to draw here.

So basically I probably flat AQo in position in that spot.

Against a pure unknown at 5nl who's played super nitty for roughly 30 hands, i'm folding AQo to a 3b like 100% of the time.

It's 5nl, when someone 3b's, it's pretty safe to assume it's strength, until we gain information otherwise imo. I could be reading this wrong though? but i'm assuming that's what alfie was asking?!

Random question ....its 5nl and we are on the btn with AQo...it gets folded round to us, we look at the bb's stats and he's a nit, say 6/3 over 30 hands...so that rules out 3bet%/fold to 4bet stats etc...he has 100 bigs....what do we do here, fold and believe he has AA-KK...but why would he 3bet that right, surely he would just call my raise.....so yeah, do we come over the top with a 4bet or fold and wait until we have a bigger hand sample on the guy?......

On another note, home game was pretty jokes. I ended up losing a BI and have never been so card dead in my life but it was the fishiest game ive ever seen. I GII OTF vs two players with AJdd on a Td8d9c and blanked the turn and river...siiiiiigggghh! Then got KK in the BB, popped it to like $6 cause there was like 5 people in the hand. Got 4 callers flop comes AT8hh (didnt have a heart). Im getting invited back which is sick cause I saw a guy snap call for $150 (50NL game) with a 3s and a 4 spade board

On another note, home game was pretty jokes. I ended up losing a BI and have never been so card dead in my life but it was the fishiest game ive ever seen. Maybe he would 3bet the top of his range, although its abit risky if he knows I'm just raising for the steal ya know, then maybe he would just flat it considering we are heads up anyway and he doesn't need to isolate anybody.....yeah the question was just about what to do in that situation if you are going for a steal with a good hand....obv if we have J7 and we get 3betted then its an insta fold.....yeah it was 5am in the morning and I was thinking about steals against nits with small samples, damn you insomnia lol....anyway yeah

Well you know he has played 6% of the hands he has seen. He has played X out of his 30 hands seen, and this came out to 0.06 = 6%.

X/30 = 6/100
X = 30*6/100
X = 1.8

This doesn't equal the exact 2 hands he has seen, because in actuality the 6% is rounded. 2/30 = 6.6 -> so I guess it rounded down.

TBH, if you opened on the button and I had AA in the BB, I would usually 3bet too

Just assume for the moment that it won't hurt folding and move on to the next hand.

If it does turn out that he's a nit, we beat them by getting them to fold or out nitting them post flop by having a monster when they start putting the money in. Nits and loose passives are the easiest players to play against, end of.

We are in MP and have 9Ts, a fish has limped behind from UTG, we limp and the BB checks......flop comes QJ7r....bb checks we bet half pot fish calls bb folds......turn K.......now the fish has got a lot of Ax-Kx s/mPP's and lower end paint cards and all suited connectors + other bits of junk..............fish checks.......now its things like these where I'm thinking about how much to bet, do I bet standard half/quarter pot for value or do I base my bets on his range, giving him odds to catch up if he's got a pocket pair for example.....

I think I've been playing too much tournement poker, you're right, its a raise or fold depending on who acted first.....yeah I always base bets on the texture of the board, if its like AKJspades then sometimes I will even pot it....and if its a dry board I will half pot it......and if I've raised pre flop and an A or K peels I can represent that with a cbet if I missed with 88 for example.......was just wondering if sometimes you base your bet sizes on villians ranges, particuarly if you have the nuts and are IP and he checks to you....do you just fire, assuming its a dry flop or will you resize to encourage him to catch up
