I've been trying to improve my cash game results lately. Do you prefer a tight-aggressive style or something more loose and aggressive in cash games?

The best style is the one that adapts to the table dynamics. Which means how are the players playing on your table? Are they all Nits then LAG is best- are they all weak laggy then TAG is best. Often there will be a mix of each --we then have to play both styles choosing which is most effective based on position of the Nits and lags.

If you are wondering how to play vs a table of solid effective players, you do it by not being on that table. Rake makes us have to have edge beyond our skill to win. We need Villains making big mistakes to beat the rake

the rake may kill you in any small live casino game , no matter how skilled you are and how poorly your opponents play !

I think both styles can work, but I usually lean toward a tight-aggressive approach as a foundation. It keeps you out of unnecessary spots and makes decisions cleaner. Once you understand the table dynamics, opening up and applying more aggression against the right opponents can become very profitable.

My favorite cash game strategy is tight-aggressive (TAG).

I prefer playing strong ranges, staying disciplined, and applying pressure in the right spots.
It works especially well against loose and impatient players at low and mid stakes.
I also like focusing on position and value betting rather than making fancy bluffs.

Simple, solid, and consistent poker usually performs best in cash games.

Very good point about how bad rake can be-in some cardrooms at 1-2 they rake a buy-in off the table every hour--avoid those games at all costs.

It all depends on how my opponents play. I adjust my game depending on the situation, but overall I prefer a tight-aggressive style.

Everything needs to be contextualized. You need to adapt to your opponents.
If they play loose, you play tight. But if they play loose pre-flop and become honest post-flop, you can play loose and steal them post-flop. You need to figure out where their game doesn't fit. Newcomers, in particular, adopt various strategies from various places, and one approach isn't always consistent with another, creating an inconsistency; and that's what you should exploit.

Tight aggressiv is my way to go, though if playing omaha I play quite loosly but I don't really play cash omaha. I'm not a fan of big variance.
