The chip is definitely not mine. My bankroll for the evening is usually $30-$50, no more :)
I would probably pick it up and ask those nearby if they lost it.

That's exactly what I would do, and if no one claims it, I'm not giving it to the casino, they certainly already got paid for it.
And if I usually play $30 to $50, I'd try my luck with half of it.
