I read sth about blackjack above . I always had this question . How they count cards in blackjack . I guess you must have good memory or what ? Also how they catch card counters . I guess the worst thing it can happen to you is to get banned for life from that casino , no profits taken , no broken bones lol

Blackjack I have tried , craps no . Maybe in the future when I learn the rules .

Hi Antonis,

1st of all, counting cards is not illegal, because it's not cheating. Still, casinos don't like it of course.
The most known way to catch a counter is by observing his bet pattern, but they probably have some other sophisticated ways.
When they catch someone doing it, sometimes they pay him and ask him to leave and sometimes they change the table rules, making him bet the minimum (Flat bet) as long as he wants to stay.

Card-counting in blackjack is not as hard as it might sound. Instead of trying to show you how here and clutter this thread, all you have to do is take a look at this:

The most mathematically profitable games are:
  • Without skills, baccarat offers the best odds.
  • With skills, a very good professional blackjack player can win $1.50 to $3 per $100

Thank you rhoudini,
This video answers most or maybe all our questions. Very helpful and instructive.

One of the most profitable casino games online is generally blackjack, it has one of lowest house edges if you play with the right strategy. Blackjack, when played with basic strategy, can drop the house edge to under 1%.

Can you please, expand a bit on how Roulette is a profitable game?
Maybe there are some specific bets that make you money, or do you just get lucky betting on certain numbers?

It depends, but its probably single deck black jack and craps, unless you find something like a really good video poker game that pays 104%(this assumes perfect play).

Also something like Progressive Slots could have really good odds if the Progressive Jackpot is very high.

The problem nowadays is finding a casino, live or online, that offers a single deck Blackjack.

As to a video poker game, just say a Slot Machine. It's practically the same thing. The odds are highly in favor of the house. In order to win, you need to be "really" lucky, like walking in at the precise moment when the machine had "absorbed" enough money and ready to give some away.

Good luck anyway ;).

I think it all depends on the player's luck. Today, roulette may be the most profitable, tomorrow blackjack, the day after tomorrow... and the day after tomorrow it's time to go to work :)

If we look at things realistically, the two options I see are blackjack and probably sports betting. I think blackjack players can be experienced and skilled enough to make money from it. The same applies to sports betting.

Those are random occurrences that do happen here and there.
The topic is about the most profitable games in the long run logically and mathematically, no matter what anyone's luck could be.

Hello "gamblers" ;),

I have always heard that the most profitable casino games are Blackjack and Craps.
The widely known reason is that the house does not have as much edge in those two games.

Is that true?
Are there any other reasons?
Seems true that Blackjack and Craps are among the most profitable casino games for players because they typically have the lowest house edge, often below 1% when played with optimal strategy. Additionally, these games allow players to use skill and strategy (especially Blackjack with card counting and Craps with strategic bets) to further reduce the house advantage, unlike many other games that rely mostly on chance.

I think in every card counter case that I read in the news , the result was the same : ban them for life from their casino or all the casinos and hotels that they own
In the movies , the card counters are shown like thieves trying to cheat the house , the people involved in this are like scammers , conspirators, and when security catches them they get beaten by a lot , or maybe that's Hollywood cr** ....

Just Hollywood, man. If they catch someone counting, they ask them to leave or make them bet the minimum for the rest of their stay as I said before.
But it's different when they catch people working as a team (What you probably saw in some movies), that's then considered cheating.

What exactly do you mean by "profitable"?

Casino games can't be profitable in a long distance, maybe only if you're some kind of wizard

It's precisely on the long term that some games could be profitable if you know how to play them with the right strategy and discipline. Blackjack for instance. And you don't need to be a wizard. Do you think all the professionals out there are wizards?

As far as I know, Blackjack used to be profitable for pro teams a long time ago, but now all of the things they used to win aren’t working anymore

I'm afraid I cannot agree with you.
There were teams who eventually got caught, but after they had made a lot of money.
At the moment, we don't know if there are any active teams since we'll only know after they'll catch them.
Besides, there are so many professionals in the industry, and they are making money.

That's actually pretty interesting.

Do most pros do it at online or offline casinos?

Professionals, especially those who count cards cannot do it online where the cards are continually and automatically shuffled.
They play at brick-and-mortar casinos.
