There are many cases of people becoming addicted to gambling here in Brazil. Many people are led by the false illusion that they've won a lot of money playing slots; many influencers sell this illusion, and people lose their assets, and there are even cases where people take their own lives. Gambling is good when played responsibly, and unfortunately, not everyone manages to do that. What do you think should be done to improve this situation?

I think the only real solution is stronger protection + honest education.
People need to understand that slots are designed to make you lose long-term, not get rich. If influencers are selling illusions, there should be tighter rules on advertising and mandatory transparency about odds. At the same time, platforms should offer better responsible-gaming tools — deposit limits, reality checks, self-exclusion, etc.
Gambling itself isn’t the problem — lack of control and lack of information is. If players get proper guidance and clear warnings, a lot of damage could be prevented

We need to raise this topic more often... With the right questions and the right answers and advice... And what to do when it's done... Culture must appear...

This could be the reason why 888 Poker does not allow brazilians to takepart in their Casino freeroll at the end of the week on Saturday.

They are part of the solution it seems.

For me, the key is balancing entertainment with the need for self-protection. Gambling is only healthy when we have real limits, and those limits cannot rely solely on willpower, especially in a system designed to be addictive.

Education is the key. People need to understand that casinos are not built because they pay gamblers lots of money, they are built because the house almost always has the edge.

I think a big part of the fix starts with stopping the glamorization of what people see as easy money. Influencers showing only wins is the worst! The only ones who got rich were the gambling platform itself and influencers who receive tons of money. People end up thinking losing is some rare glitch. If folks saw that even winners hit brutal downswings, maybe they’d approach gambling with more caution instead of blind optimism.

There is nothing we can do, those people are broken.

Their brains just work different, they'll always find a way to gamble unfortunately

I think it's a normal process. Everyone should make their own individual choices and take responsibility for themselves and family. I don't see anything wrong with gambling. For many responsible players, it's a way to relax. 😎

For some, gambling is entertainment, for others it is work, and for others it is an addiction. Everyone chooses for themselves what gambling means to them. Addiction is the result of irresponsible gambling. You ask how to make people more responsible?
This is a difficult question, and I don't think anyone can offer an effective solution.

Promotions that recognize that casino gambling is a net loss scenario like the one below both state the obvious and encourage further losses if your'e so inclined.

Pokerstars no longer allows Brazilians to play at its casino either, but there are many betting sites here. At PS, they claim they need government legalization, and it seems they have not reached an agreement.

I don't understand why people say "play it for fun, not for the money". If you don't want money, why are you not playing cassino at mobile Apps that you use only play money? Just play casino games with real money if you want to test your luck and if that money is not important for you, but put in your mind that you will never beat the casino, this is easy to prove with math.

People sell the illusion of getting a jackpot or something like that with a small amount of money used to do it, but this is ridiculous.

That's why I would only say to people to play mind games, like Poker, but, if don't want to play that kind of games, you can gamble at sports, even knowing there's a lot of things you can't control there.

At sports gamble you can't know what will happen at a soccer/football match or if the involved people will be doing their job without external influence, but you may try to analyze a big quantity of statistics and decide what you think is the best option for you to bet.

Resuming this: I think mind games like Poker is the best option for you to gamble, as you can win money with consistency and with fun, but you may try to gamble at sports if you want (this is not the best option, but you can improve your results if you are a good analyst).

This is a matter of regulation.

The issue of addiction is very difficult; in all cases, people don't recognize that they have a problem. The family plays an important role in helping.

I think that, as an option, responsible gaming mechanisms could be applied, which are currently not mandatory. If they were made mandatory, with daily spending limits, this might improve the situation, but we should not expect this to solve the problem as a whole just yet.

This is a problem for addicts, because they want easy money and not work, and no one is forcing them to play until their last pants fall. At casinos, you need to play with money you don't mind losing. A person can help themselves by stopping in time and thinking.

I think that in order to improve the situation, it would be sufficient to set monthly spending limits for each player. The limit should not exceed, for example, 10% of official income per month. That is, during verification, each player, in addition to documents, would also have to provide proof of official income. Based on this certificate and the amount of income, each player would be subject to a mandatory monthly limit of 10%. If a player does not have an official income, for example, such players would be subject to a basic limit, which should not exceed, for example, $100 per month.

One of the most important things is that people should not believe that you can make a living from the casino. You can win, even blow the bank sometimes, but these cases are few. It is a very important step that people under the age of 18 should not play at all, because it is extremely dangerous to influence a mind whose identity is still developing or has just begun to form.

I sometimes play at places like https://thepokiesaustralia.info/ where I can always choose any gambling game and have fun!

This is probably the best explanation I've seen of why casinos and betting will destroy your money. That's why I only play poker.

I think that, at the legislative level, programmes should be developed that clearly regulate the activities of casinos, licensing conditions and conditions that should regulate the play of the players themselves on these platforms. This should be a comprehensive approach with clear and understandable rules. In Ukraine, there is a terrible mess regarding this issue, with a bunch of regulatory bodies and no one understands who should do what and be responsible for what. As a result, we have a bunch of illegal and semi-legal sites that operate as they see fit. It's a mess.

You'll never be able to fully protect everyone while allowing freedom for most people to enjoy a vice. There is only so you much can do. Depending on how widely you define addiction, it is everywhere and fundamental to how our reward system works.

Many famous people have promoted betting sites and casinos, leading many to the false impression that they could get rich gambling.
