Wondering how I would have become aware of CC without advertising. Also wondering if Nick & associates would have even considered investing time & money in an online start up that couldn't be advertised.

Yes! Ads are part and parcel of our world! And people’s choices are personal—like whether to start smoking, drinking, gambling, exercising, etc. Good luck to you!

There is a difference with CC, Nick and CC are not providing actual gambling services with the illusion of living the high life.

How do you feel about advertising gambling, such as online casinos?
Do you consider it acceptable to broadcast such advertisements on television and radio?
Do you consider it acceptable to place such advertisements on outdoor media, billboards, banners, building facades, public transport, and in the metro?
Do you consider it normal for popular figures, citizens of your country to promote certain online projects?

In Ukraine, there are strict restrictions on gambling advertising. Advertising on television and radio is only allowed at night, and outdoor advertising is completely prohibited. The involvement of popular and well-known people in such advertising is also prohibited.
What is the situation in this regard in your country?
I don't think it would be right to ban advertising. But you can clearly describe the rules and introduce strict norms for violation of which, for example, you can deprive a very expensive license. I think in this case 99% of advertisers will follow the rules. Everything can be prescribed so that manipulation will be simply impossible.

In the USA, it is OK to advertise good and services that are legal. Hence it ok to advertise gambling casinos, alcohol and now pot, but still illegal to advertise prostitution.

I honestly don't have problems with casinos advertising for their services as this has no influence to me personally if I go to a place or not.

I don't pay attention to advertising, but choose those products and services whose quality I have no doubts about. Whatever the casino's advertising, I will go there only if I really like it. Whether there is advertising or not, it doesn't really bother me.

It is very limited, you can see advertisments online, with the related warnings, and outside there are no such direct advertisments. In the casino sites also there are warnings for gambling.

I am against any gambling advertising; I don't like it when people influence your decision from all sides and force you to play in a casino.

I suppose you could have met CardsChat like most of us, thanks to our freerolls. CardsChat freerolls, which we can often see in the lobby of sites like 888, WPT or GG. Maybe you didn't pay attention.
Tell me please, did you become a member of CardsChat thanks to advertising on TV or radio, or maybe you saw advertising on billboards or in transport?

Advertising doesn't bother me. On the contrary, I think it does more good than harm. Various promotions or other hot offers should be advertised, because there's no other way.

I am against advertising gambling, just as I am against advertising cigarettes, alcohol, and drugs. In my opinion, advertising gambling is simply irresponsible, as these advertisements can be seen by people who are currently struggling with addiction or by teenagers.
Not even just teenagers but children more broadly too.

I think gambling should be legal (along with many other things like decriminalization of drugs and sex work) but advertising it should be banned.

I would go a step further and say that any sort of 'mystery box' type items can't be marketed to children (think cannabis packaging in Canada- plain, covered in warnings and data) as that's a form of gambling that is socially accepted but shouldn't be. I got unreasonably upset when I saw a mystery box with a toy pretty clearly for toddlers or preschoolers.

Gambling is fun, has existed for thousands of years and plays an important cultural role but when the state permits (or worse promotes) the commerical spread of gambling corporations it does little more than suck wealth out of communities and sends them off to rich shareholders elsewhere.

Hi

I think moderation and transparency are the key here. Gambling advertising probably shouldn’t be everywhere 24/7 or target vulnerable people, but a complete ban doesn’t really solve the issue either. I can say that even as a casino rep..

At the end of the day online casinos are a form of entertainment for millions of adults so responsible advertising with clear limits and responsible gambling messaging makes more sense to me than pretending gambling doesn’t exist..

The real problem starts when ads create unrealistic expectations or push gambling as a guaranteed way to make money.

Ina

Advertising must not be aimed at minors, promise a guaranteed income, or create the illusion of easy money.
