With the high suicide rate increasing due to the uncontrolled gambling of some players, what would be the best way to solve this problem in your opinion? 😢

There's no way, it's pure luck and the bank always wins

Suicides can have different reasons, very different ones. Gambling is not the cause of the problem, or rather not always the cause of the problem. I think that first of all, close relatives of a person who is depressed should be attentive.

In this case, specifically the suicides caused by a lack of control in betting... 👍

bankroll management and knowing when to hit the next machine are key. Consider the games you play and your budget. If you're playing 20-cent spins, let's set expectations first. $4 per 20-cent spin is 20x, and if you're playing low-volatility slots, that's a pretty good bonus you should be happy about.Furthermore, slots are one of the casino games where you benefit greatly from a larger bankroll. You need to take risks to earn truly decent bonuses, and that means big bets. Not constant big bets, but well-placed big bets. For example, a ladder of spins, starting with 20 cents and increasing every 20 spins until you hit a bonus. With a large enough bankroll, you're almost guaranteed to hit a bonus. As your bet size increases, this bonus doesn't have to be such a huge multiplier that you can recoup losses or turn a profit.

And I remember that once I played a Pokerstar slot, when it was still possible to play in Brazil, I won $105 dollars playing for 0.5 cents, I wonder if I were playing at least 0.25... But I lacked courage!! Kkkk I won it at once, it gave me the bonus!! Nowadays I don't play slots anymore, precisely because I had difficulty managing bankroll and self-control.

How to solve people's personal problems?
Are these problems related to losing control over their bets, or to non-payment of taxes, or to problems at home or in the family?
Each specific case is special and requires an individual approach. General template solutions are not enough here.

Do you have any stats that gambling is creating a spike in self inflicted deaths in some particular country?

It’s actually a complicated question. Every player needs to keep their emotions in control and manage risk properly when setting aside the amount of money that they can afford to spend. The thing is, when we play at a casino, we’re seeking thrills, and if we lose money, we shouldn’t get upset about it. 😗

Você tem alguma estatística que mostre que o jogo está causando um aumento nas mortes por suicídio em algum país específico?
First interpreter the text. 😉

Excellent view...

I did.
But you are asking us to solve a problem that we don't even know exists on a statistical level.
I'm sure people turn to this drastic measure for many different reasons. And of course, every life lost is a tragedy.
But I am not sure that gambling rises above other reason causing a spike.

Think of it as part of your entertainment budget.

Do not think of playing games where the house has the edge, as a source of income.

Stay within your budget.

Strict self exclusion, blocking software, and getting actual support (like Gamblers Anonymous or hotlines). Moderation rarely works once it turns into a real addiction, so total cutoff is usually the best step.

High suicide rate because of gambling? Never heard of that, can you provide some statistics to confirm your claims? Does this happen often in Brazil?

Obviously, the best way out is to make gambling controlled with strict verification rules and limits on play. Safe play should be a priority. But at the same time, it must be said honestly that this is not really in the interests of the casino.

You think about those things that, unfortunately, are very difficult to influence in any way. How many people die from alcohol abuse, how many from smoking, or from drug abuse. How many people die from stupid traffic violations. Efforts should be made where we can really change something for the better and where you can potentially get some results.

Prohibiting the casino (live and online) is the only way, I think... but, being honest, I think people would still find a way to get themselves broke...

Proibir os cassinos (tanto físicos quanto online) é a única solução, na minha opinião... mas, sendo sincero, acho que as pessoas ainda dariam um jeito de se arruinar financeiramente...
I totally agree!!!

Prohibiting cannot be the solution.
Prohibiting will lead to the development of the shadow market and this will only worsen the situation. I think this is a complex issue that should be resolved at the government level. Methods of harsh control, including financial, the work of psychological support services and effective mechanisms for restricting access to games are necessary.

I think once gambling becomes an addiction, “just play responsibly” isn’t enough. Self-exclusion, deposit limits, blocking access to gambling sites, and real support from family or professionals can make a much bigger difference. Most importantly, people need to understand that losing money is never a reason to lose hope.

It depends on the severity, but the best thing to do is seek professional help.

There is no clever way of solving this problem without restricting freedom too much, as the economy is based on making bets about the future. Maybe better education about risk in society might improve things at the margin.
