Out of curiosity, I would like to know if you carry liquid cash or card to casinos? Out of the box, carrying just liquid cash, might help us to limit how much we wanna spent at the Casino, isn’t it?

Me personally I like to carry cash but I think in this modern times cards are more normal to use for Casino play because you can reload more quickly and it's more comfortable to use a card than cash.

Yeah I got that, but, wouldn’t that result in overspending?

Cash is king.

I never gamble live with something that can be traced by the government or any other authority.

IRS or Skatteverket, as we call it in Sweden, has eyes on everything that goes in and out of bank accounts.

That’s something which I never thought about, good one to know about.

Before going to the casino, I make sure I have enough cash for whatever I intend to do, and I leave the cards home.

2 reasons:

1) With the cards, it's always easier to get carried away and spend more than you can afford.
2) The fees on ATMs can be particularly high if you don't find a machine belonging to your particular bank, which is the case most of the time.

Yeah, I once became the victim of both the points mentioned especially the second one. On top of the money I spent, bank charged me too much for the transactions 🥲

I have never used a credit card, and the cash is the amount I can afford to lose.

Some (weird) casinos (and/or poker clubs) are actually cash free so you stay the heck away from them right

You also may want to use the card to build comps and to help with the preparation of your taxes. If you always use the card it makes you taxes much easier because you get the casinos reports.

I use the card to pay for basically everything!
That way, I can accumulate points on the card and get some benefits.

So yes, I would take a card. I would just have to keep track of what I'm spending. Which is already common for me.

Building comps only needs a casino card, not a debit or credit card.

absolutely cash only. swiping a card at a table or machine doesn’t feel like real money, so you end up spending way faster than you realize. physically handing over $20 bills and watching your stack get smaller makes the losses actually register in your brain. definitely leave the cards at home

I usually prefer carrying only the cash I'm comfortable losing. It makes it much easier to stick to a budget and avoids those "just one more buy-in" moments. 😅

I take cash with me. It's more convenient and safer. I take the limit that I'm ready to spend. The card is for paying for a taxi or drinks or food if there is such a need.

Cash only. Poker is the ONLY time my mind can tilt. And I hate that feeling so I bring only the cash I can afford to lose.

I carry cash for playing and drinks at the bar. For meals and other purchases I use my credit card to get the cash back.

When I gamble, I gamble with the question of how long I can have fun. I'm the same guy who plays one line on a slot machine with a penny bet for a while and curses how much I could have won if I'd just bet five cents instead, but I lose every time. You can pay in cash, by card, or by using an onboard account for use at vending machines or tables. Please note that a 3% fee applies when using an onboard account. It's better to use a map.
