Casinos that still let you smoke inside in 2026

I was at a local casino here and to my surprise in the main area it was still possible to smoke. Only the Poker area was actually smoke free. What do you think of this? Shouldn't casinos be completely smoke free in this day and age?

I smoke. In my opinion, casinos should have different areas for different players. But in general, I understand that smoking is harmful to everyone, both smokers and those around them, and if smoking in public places is banned, I will be understanding.

Although I would like to see no smoking in the whole casino where I play it's reasonable to have a separate smoker's area . Definitely no smoking in the poker room though !

Pretty standard setup for most places now. They keep poker and non-smoking areas clean because players sit there for hours, but the main floor is where the slot whales hang out. Until local laws force them to go 100% smoke free, they’re never gonna turn down that money.

Yeah true probably a typical case of keeping the fish happy so he spends more money in the venue and also keeps returning to it.

There's always a place to smoke in every casino I've gone to. It may be a designated smoking area or somewhere just outside the casino. Its a way to make sure that smokers stay in the casino as long as possible.

My local casinos are smoke free and have smoking areas outside of the casino and I love it! When we went to Texas a few weeks ago we went to a huge casino outside of Dallas. It was not smoke free and I hated it. I forgot how bad that can be.

Casino smokers are among the rudest smokers on the planet. They have to know their 2nd hand smoke can cause lung cancer in people who choose not to smoke - and they blow their smoke right in the direction of people sitting next to them. As someone who lost 1/3 of my right lung several years ago I have a low tolerance for that kind of selfishness.

Don't get me started lol.

I think casinos should be smoke free because smoking is dangerous not only to the smoker, but to the people around a smoker also. Thats a health hazard.

I have never smoked either and I also believe that smoking in public places, in any public places, should have been banned back in the last century.

I wouldn't go to that casino unlesss absurd financial incentives to do so. I do remember enjoying smoking in pubs but over time it now seems unthinkable.

I think smoking in public places should be banned. But if we're talking about underground casinos, somewhere in a basement or an abandoned warehouse, then it's no wonder that people smoke there.

It all depends on the legislation. If the legislation does not prohibit smoking in public places, then the owner of the establishment decides what to do next. And of course, if the owner of the establishment smokes, then most likely the establishment will at least have smoking rooms.

the local casinos in my san diego area have smoke free and smoking sections . as long as the restaurants, food court and poker tables are non smoking places it works for me .

I'm in California - no smoking is allowed in establishments at all but tribal casinos are still smoked out because reservations are considered sovereign nations (up to a point), so state laws don't always apply.

I have two good-sized tribal casinos within a 5-minute drive from my house and they do have separate sections of the building that are on different air-handing systems, so you don't notice any cigarette smoke in the non-smoking areas. However, the non-smoking areas are a lot smaller and all of the table games such as blackjack are in the smoking section.

I did some research on why casino gas is often up to $0.50/gallon less expensive than every other station, it's because they are also exempt from some state taxes so they're still making money even though the price is substantially cheaper.

I smoke too. But the places I've been to have separate smoking areas. I think that in the coming years or decades smoking will be banned completely and that would probably be the right thing to do.

One of the things I enjoy on my trips to Vegas is that during a break in the tourney, I can sit at a video poker machine and have a smoke. I don't smoke in my room so when I get up in the morning, I get dressed and ready, then sit at a machine in the casino enjoying a coffee and my morning cigarette.

It is nice relaxing way to start the day around 8am or so while the casino is pretty quiet. I never asked about smoking rooms the three previous years when I stayed at Harrah's, Flamingo, and Sahara so I'm not sure if they have them or not. This year I spent seven nights at South Point and got a smoking room. The only time I smoked in it however was on Easter Sunday when I'd be catching the plane home at 10:40pm. I wanted to drag out the time and left the room right before the 11am checkout time.

Well, I quit smoking a few years ago, but smoking still does not bother me. I still remember how hard it is on smokers
to have nowhere to smoke. I think if you smoke, you should have a place to smoke; if you don't, then you should have somewhere smoke-free.
It used to be that smokers were half the population, but more and more are quitting these days.

Now, if you want to get into SHOUDN'T, that would be a long list lol

I smoke, so I always went to those halls where smokers sit. But over time, such places became less and less, and now smoking is already prohibited in most establishments. I think this is right, although I myself would still like to play in places where they smoke.
