Croupier/Casino Dealer job

I want to become a dealer but I don't know what skills are required for this job. Do I need to know a lot of math?I'm good at basic math but not advanced math.Also I'm a non-smoking person and when I see someone smoking I get sick.Is this the right job for me or should I choose something else.I have read most of the forums but none of them told me the reality of how life in a casino would be.
I would appreciate opinions,comments,etc.

I hope that this thread will not be with x views and 0 replies.I would like to know more about this job rather than someone who comes here and tells me that he has no idea.I hope that my thread will have a lot of replies.

No one?No one knows?Isn't this a poker forum?

I understand that there are schools to learn how to be a dealer/croupier. You may want to start there. As far as the smoking, you may be limited to Canada and other countries where you are prohibited from smoking in the casino...in the US, smoking is allowed in most casinos, but some poker rooms are smoke free.

Welcome to cardschat community.
This is a hard work. But you can learn everything. I have a friend who works as a casino dealer at poker tables. He says that it was difficult for him at first to work, but eventually he got used and worked almost automatically.Good luck.
 
From what I've heard, being a dealer at a casino can be a bit depressing seeing all the people who have real gambling addictions lose everything right in front of you. I've heard people get kind of numb to it and it might not be healthy if you do it for too long. I've never been a dealer at a casino, that's just what I've heard. May or may not be true. I've heard they get paid good money though from tips. I've heard cash games are better for dealers than tournaments too.
 
Here in the casinos, they have separate rooms for the smokers.
 
What about math?How much math do I use?Is basic math all I need?
How much money can you earn without tips?Can you live without tips?
Is it true that the customers abuse you?Is the stress really high?
I'm asking these questions because I don't have friends in this industry.
Now I'm more of a introverted person and I talk only when I'm asked.Do you think that I will get a promotion if I get my job done right?

Hello.
Once I also received a proposal to work as a dealer in the casino, and although there was a good salary, I declined because I had to work at night.
 
I don't have any experience.
But the times I went to a casino, I saw 'alot' of angry people because the dealer/croupier didn't give them the right cards/ didn't roll the right number on the roulette. So if you're shy, this might be quite overwhelming.

How are members ignoring your topic, they have answered you as best they can, how can anyone share the specific information you are looking for unless they are croupier/casino dealers from Romania?
 
You're kidding me,right?This is a poker forum and no one knows anything about salaries,place of living,comfort,etc?All I wanted is some advice and all I get from you is a big IGNORE.WHY?What have I done to you?I got a few messages after I prayed a few users to talk to me about this job but it seems that no one in this forum would offer me advices.(other than the users that I talked)

No I'm not kidding this is a poker forum where people come to get advice on how to improve their game and participate in the many games we offer it is not a croupiers/dealers forum.

I looked at a forum from my country and it barelly worked with registration.The admins from there are dead and they won't talk to me.What am I supposed to do?I waited an year to get a permission to register there and no one would listen to me.Can you talk to them?

The casino is much harder to predict than poker.
 
The casino is basically a full machine where you play mostly with a robot.
In poker, almost all of them are real people.
 
And these people know as much as you do. Some more, some less, but they are just people.!!!

I don't understand what you are saying.All I know is that dealers deal cards in holdem poker or omaha and that has nothing to do with robots.

By works I mean not people, but programs like random number generators.
