Do you buy lottery tickets?

For about 15 years, I bought 2-3 lottery tickets every week. The draw for these tickets always took place on Sunday mornings. On average, each ticket cost $1. So I spent at least $2 every week. There are approximately 53 weeks in a year, so I spent at least $106 per year. 106 x 15 = 1,590. I diligently recorded all my winnings during this time and can say that I won $792. So, my question is, do you buy lottery tickets, and if so, for how long, and what are your winnings, if any?

I don't buy lottery tickets. I don't bet on anything that depends on luck. I know that in the long run I will lose.

Of course, I've been submitting multiple coupons every week for about 14 years now. I wouldn't call myself an addict, I just give my luck a chance every week. I haven't counted how much money was spent on it yet, but I have a guess about how much money was spent that way. I don't really care, I'll give it a chance and that's it. What is certain is that the amount of my winnings is negligible compared to the amounts invested. I'm guessing 10-20%, no more.

I don't buy lottery tickets because the odds are simply too high.
Tho my father-in-law once won a car in a raffle draw.
You just don't know when the stars will align & win the chance of a lifetime.

Oh yeah, I had that "passion" too.

And I can say you have a good return.
I'm even afraid to calculate how much I've spent over the years, and if it's returned in winnings, it's about 10%.

Lottery tickets ? No , I don't but . I don't believe in the honesty of the people organizing these lottery events , even if it's the state itself . I think it's a loss of money . You wait for the miracle win . A waste of money , time and hope

I think everyone did at least a couple times in their lives.
Years ago, I used to buy 2 tickets a week with the same exact numbers for a while, probably 3 years. Never hit even 5 numbers. I hit 4 many times and 3 loads of times, but the winnings were insignificant. Now I don't anymore.

I used to do this in my youth but then I stopped completely for years. These days I spend a Euro but no more than that when ever I feel the need for that extra excitement (which is not often). But one in a fifteen million chance to win the jackpot is not that great.

I played cassino games, spent less than 20$ and won more than 22$ its enough I guess
Once I won a free spin, won 2$, played sattelite poker, won 11$ ticket, played 11$ tournament and won in 1st place 273$ thanks to God, Praise be the Lord Jesus.

nah, i rarely touch the lotto. the odds are just so astronomically bad that it feels like throwing cash straight into the bin. i'd honestly rather put that $2 or $3 a week into a micro sports bet or a hand of blackjack where i at least get some interactive fun and an illusion of control over whether i win or lose. but hey, getting almost 50% of your money back over 15 years isn't the worst run!

That's some serious dedication, and I actually like that you kept track of everything. It really shows the reality of lottery odds. I've bought tickets here and there over the years, but never consistently enough to calculate the return. The biggest win I've ever had was just enough to buy a few more tickets. For me, it's more about the fun of imagining "what if" than expecting to come out ahead. Your numbers are a good reminder that the lottery is entertainment, not an investment.

There was a time when I bought the lottery regularly. My girlfriend and I loved the Sunday morning lottery shows. But we never won anything significant. Maybe we stopped too soon.
