I never really believed in the lottery. I would occasionally buy tickets for a TV lottery, but I never won anything. However, a neighbor of mine , who had been playing regularly for about five or six years hit the jackpot one day. The grand prize was $300,000; there were three winners, so he walked away with $100,000. Nowadays, it’s simple: you can participate in lotteries from all over the world online.

Sometimes, I buy a lottery ticket if I'm in a good mood. But overall, spending money on poker is much more promising in my opinion :)

Well, like the op, if you just buy one or two tickets weekly, then you haven't invested much and can deal with the losses or get lucky.
I was going to Vegas once when the jackpot was very large, and had the lame brain idea that I could get decent money from so many gamblers
and bought 500, soon found out that selling out-of-state lotto tickets was illegal lol. I kept them but didn't break the bank either way.

When the powerball prize has jackpotted several times I'll usually spend around $100-$150 on a few 10 person syndicate tickets that include the powerball.

I've bought the lottery several times in my life. I've never won anything, which isn't surprising in principle.

When I was 16-18 I bought lottery tickets. This went on for a few years. Until I counted the expenses and realized that I didn't want to spend money on "hope" anymore.

If I buy a ticket, it'll just be one bad investment decision that, at best, will cost me a can of energy drink. It won't set me back much, to be honest, but who knows. Maybe the dream is worth it.

I'm not sure if you can participate in any lotteries. I don't think it's that simple. I mean, you can certainly spend money and buy a lottery ticket, but it's likely that you, not being a citizen of a particular country, may not be eligible for the cash payout.

Yes, there are those moments, especially when you're at the cash register, when there are lottery tickets nearby and you're in a good mood, so why not take a few :)

It's good that you find the positive in such situations. You're obviously an optimist :)

No surprise there :)
But it’s unlikely there have ever been cases where a so-called ‘beginner’ bought their very first lottery ticket and won the jackpot. Beginners are lucky, but not when it comes to lotteries.

Pragmatic approach. But people buy lotteries not only for the "dream", but also for emotions.

When I play regularly—I buy $0.50 lottery tickets in Mexico—I have won up to $200.

I've bought tickets in lotteries all over the world, and I have received the funds when I've had a win.

These are the international lotteries that I can buy tickets for.

This is the usual international lottery ticket I buy.

Don't buy them any more...spent about $50 Cdn when the first lotto tickets came out in 1974 to finance the 1976 Montreal Olympics...will get my wife the occasional scratch ticket.

It’s certainly possible; there are special websites where non-residents of the country hosting the lottery can participate. I once came across a forum where people shared their experiences with such lotteries.

I like Lottery Tickets! Texas Lotto, Powerball and Mega Millions are games I play when the pot gets juicy!

Scratch offs are fun too! Cashword or Crossword are my favorites!

once or twice a year here in Brazil whenever there is a huge accumulated prize. Basically, it's FOMO.

There comes a time in life when you realize that you are swimming against the tide and your life is not going anywhere, you realize that you are missing something important in your life that a million dollars will not fill that gap, that life is not about having your pockets full of money, that you will always live with that fear of failure, and when you finally realize that you wasted a lot of time in life trying to seek that fantasy of a more privileged life and you lost that happiness that only your loved ones can give you, “LOVE”

I don't buy it, I never really believed that!

I've probably bought no more than 20 tickets in my entire life. I understand that whoever buys them has a chance to win, but in my opinion it's a pretty boring way to spend money.
