Do you have receipts for casino winnings?

I go to the casino, exchange cash or cash out card for chips, play, then cash out chips & go out. Never thought about receipts for any winnings. Heard of someone with $15K winnings from casino held in the airport due to the bulk cash and authorities require paperworks for the winnings to verify. How is this handled in your country?

Do you get documentations for winnings before leaving a casino? Does casinos provide receipts for winnings? What is your take in this situation?

Never thought of that.
It's what I'd call, a good problem to have. 😉

However, in light of your post, in the unlikely event of me winning a considerable sum of cash at an overseas casino, I had better remember to obtain proof of winnings.

I have never played in live casinos, but in every country I imagine that there is a limit on how much money I can carry with me.

It's an airport /customs problem , not a casino issue . I don't know what happened in the case under discussion, but if you are leaving one country and entering another you'd better understand the laws . ,

I believe any cash amount equivalent to $10K USD or more needs to be declared in the airport when flying internationally.

I once won a big prize when I was 20. They took all my information and made me sign some forms. In your case, it would be like winning $2,000 in today's value. My only concern was walking away with the money in hand.

It 'aint that bad if they just take info & u sign some forms to be able to walk away with the cash. I did not hear how that $15K cash scenario ended in the airport but it could go bad if they would suspect money laundering or something & they have no proof of it as casino winnings. 🙁

I never really thought about this either, but keeping proof of a big win sounds important, especially when travelling overseas.

I think it is important to have it in case it is a big profit and if you have to move it to another country.
These receipts can serve as proof of the amount won and help verify the transaction.
