When you're at a casino, do you eat at their buffet, or do you buy your own food in the other available places?

As the casino I went to more often has a great food at the buffet, that's where I ate mostly, but late at night, when it was closed, I had no choice but to buy something at the food court where there is plenty to choose from too.

Some pics of the Borgata buffet:

I like to get steak or sushi, but some casinos offer multiple great options.

And as it's "All you can eat" 😉, even the choice becomes kind of "difficult".

Looking at this Buffet I would prefer to eat there right in the casino. I very rarely bring my own food anyway no matter where I go.

It's enough for me to steal a chicken from the neighbor's coop. 😍 But speaking seriously, I didn't buy food at the casino. The main reason is that it's too expensive. Yes, I can set aside money for games (roulette, slots or blackjack), but I try not to add any additional expenses.

I think pies with all kinds of fillings are the most delicious quick meals and of course they also satisfy hunger, as my appetite for the game is not affected if I am full of hunger.

In general, food and drinks at the casino are not important to me. Eating at the casino is not a must for me. Especially considering the fact that I play for no more than $20-30 at a time, and it takes no more than two hours on average. And, importantly, I mainly play online, so my girlfriend prepares food and drinks for me 🙂

You'd quickly change your mind if you play an MTT or start grinding in a cash game 😉.

The buffet prices and comps sound like a big part of the Vegas experience. Bacchanal and Wynn getting mentioned makes sense, especially for food variety.

I’d probably go for a burger and fries if I’m actually playing for a few hours. I don’t usually think much about casino food, but a good meal definitely makes a long session easier.

There used to be buffets all over Vegas but they all closed during Covid and very few of them ever opened again. Caesar's has a great buffet but I will never eat there again. It is $65-95 and I can't eat that much food. I would be lucky to be able to eat about $25 worth. Since you can't take leftovers that is a hard no for me.

$65-95 for a buffet is wild, especially if you can only eat a fraction of it. I’d pass on that too

There are also people who enter the casino just to eat and drink taking advantage of the fact that it provides the necessary while you play! Perhaps it is also because of this that many casinos have stopped offering this service...

That is probably one of the reasons. The other is that pre-Covid they were part of the culture in Vegas and expected by visitors. I think many casinos took the opportunity presented with Covid to permanently close them - I doubt they were very profitable and took up valuable space.

I’ve never been to a casino yet, but I think any fast food would do for me. I imagine everything in a casino is tasty and good quality. 😄

I’m into simple, classic food. I love a good steak, a solid burger, and home‑cooked dishes with real flavor. I’m not picky — if the meat is good and the taste is right, I’m happy.I have to admit something: I haven’t been inside a live casino in over 15 years. That’s why I’m curious how you guys see the differences. My recent experience is only with online play, and the live casino I remember is from way back, when the atmosphere was totally different.

I rarely eat out. But if I get peckish at the casino, a tasty burger is quite enough for me.
