In Scandinavian mythology, there is the god Ullr, who is considered the patron of all gambling and the god of fortune. In Aztec mythology, there is the god Macuilxochitl, who is considered the god of gambling. In ancient Greek mythology, there is Hermes, to whom gamblers often turned for luck.

I always rely only on myself. Even in the most difficult moments, you just need to stay calm and focused. Luck will be more favorable to you if you know how to keep the situation under control.

It's pretty ridiculous. Losing money in a casino hoping that some mythical creature will step in and change the course of events. I think if I had hoped in gods I would have stopped gambling a long time ago.

I do not request luck as I have a sense of predetermination regarding it. Some are just lucky, others not. I have not lived by it, but I like the idea of each online slot having its own deity that you must thank each time, by spinning the wheel once more as thanks.

Sometimes when I play I can ask for something "good" directly from the slot I'm playing. It probably looks funny, but it doesn't really bother me

Went to the casino last night and kept just praying to anyone for a bit of win...I think I was even talking out loud to the machine...not sure if people heard me, didnt really care. Spent 300 and walked out with 1200. Not sure it was the praying or just got lucky, but was happy for the win.

As an option. Today we ask for luck from a god-like apple, tomorrow from a god-like box, and the day after that from a god-like caramel

I think, if you are a "Gambler" you should turn your prayers to St. Catetan. You can look him up, but he is the patron saint of gamblers. However, as I am not a gambler in the strictest sense of the word. I do not need, as Poker is not gambling.

Praying for money is probably a bad idea. Even if you believe in different gods. In prayers you can ask for health, but praying for money is not appropriate in my opinion.

Seems pretty harmless; I think it might depend on the attachment to the outcome.If a Catholic, for example, goes to a casino and doesn't win, then he acknowledges that it was not part of God's plan for him to win.

Most poker players don’t pray to gods anymore…
they pray to the dealer: “one time, please.” 😭
But honestly, every gambler eventually develops their own mythology: a lucky hoodie, a specific seat, a ritual before all-ins, or the belief that standing up during the river changes destiny 😂
And somehow after losing with AA to 72o, even the most rational person starts considering divine intervention.

I don't pray to any gods. I just try not to get distracted, to evaluate my own game adequately, and not to spend more than I can afford. These three simple rules allow me to enjoy the game and avoid negativity.
