One morning during my recent trip to Vegas I stepped up to the $5 craps table at South Point. The dice went around the table once and I did the standard six to eight rolls and out. The next time I was like the Energizer rabbit just rolling and rolling and rolling and.... It was massive and I was the heroine at the table, including with the dealers because partway through it I bet $10 + $20 in odds for them, so they ended up with a $60 tip.

I broke even for the session so I did well, and got to bask in glory for a bit.

Well, maybe that was better than a small win since the table loved you, and in my book, breaking even is
As good as a win, if I go home with my money, then I had fun for free, which is a win 😍

There are different days, but the most important thing is not to forget when to stop

I agree totally...but at the same time, your rolling the dice makes hundreds or thousands for other players, while you just break even...stings a little...but congrats Emily.

Exactly. But you know, the craps table is the only game in the casino where you will find that most everyone there looks like they're having fun. I think that being able to actually participate in it by throwing the dice helps to create that feeling.

That does not apply to players who play the DON'T PASS...I used to play the Don't side back in the early 80s. The rest of the table hates you...being cursed is no big deal, but I have been spit at...I get the "Team" spirit thing, but on the come out, there are 6 ways to make a seven and 2 ways to make 11 for a natural win...which means the Don't players are 78% safe, then on any point the Don't side has a 6-3 advantage on 4, 10, a 6-4 advantage on 5, 9 and a 6-5 advantage on 6, 8...I usually made money...but I stopped playing craps because of the abuse...then after Moneymaker's win in the wsop, I played almost exclusively poker in Las Vegas...except for slots with my wife after dinner.

The main thing is that the game brings you joy. Joy has a positive effect on our health, even if you have to pay a little for this joy

I know just what you're saying. When I was a teenager my father used to say that I was a born "contraire'. In other words, more often that not I'd go in a different direction than anyone else. I probably could have very easily become a Donty myself, but laying odds rubbed me the wrong way.

Now that’s a proper craps story 😄 A monster roll, the whole table loving you, the dealers getting a piece of it too — that’s pure Vegas stuff right there. And honestly, breaking even after all that action is still a good session, because the memory is worth more than the number at the cage sometimes.
