How does taxation on winnings work in your country?

In the US you have to pay taxes on winnings of $2000 or higher. (Until 2026 it was $1200).

So if you have a single win of $2000 or more on a slot machine they will give you the option of withholding taxes before they pay you - or paying them when you file your taxes. They issue a tax form either way so you can't get out of it.

I always have them take the taxes out on the spot, so it is sorted out before I file our taxes.

How do players pay tax on winnings?
I wonder how it works in Ukraine. Have you ever paid tax on winnings in online poker?
No. Although i probably should have when used to withdraw money from unlicensed sites like 888 ... 🤔

In Bangladesh, winnings from card games and online games are subject to 25% tax at source when the payment is made.
So if the provider is responsible for the payment, they should deduct the tax before paying the winnings.
