How “fair” are casino games? Experiences, opinions, and reality.

I played thousands of hands of BJ at several dozen online casinos in the early 2000s , and my overwhelming feeling was that they were fair.

Whether it's changed since then I can't comment.

The casino always has an advantage. Everyone knows that.
Is it fair?
Probably so. Because otherwise the casino simply would not exist. Are we making the right decision when we risk our own money when we actually have an opponent who has an advantage?
Probably not. I think it's wrong. Nevertheless, most of us continue to do it. Why?
Because it's emotions. It's just emotions that we are willing to pay for 🙂

You’re right, the house edge is always there, and that makes casino games “fair” only in the sense that the rules are clear from the beginning. What keeps us playing isn’t the math, it’s the emotion. The near‑misses, the small wins, the adrenaline — they create the feeling that we’re close to something big. In the end, we’re paying for the experience, not for the expectation of profit

Lately, more players are questioning what they see long streaks in roulette, repeated numbers, or sessions that feel completely one sided. Some say it’s just natural variance at work, others suspect that modern systems especially online or live games might play a role.
The reality probably sits in between perception and math. Randomness doesn’t always look random streaks and unlikely patterns are actually part of how probability behaves over time. But at the same time, trust and transparency matter, especially when outcomes are generated behind the scenes.

I think online casinos have the winning odds on every game with the exception of two. I could be wrong about those two.😂. I can't say positively why my winning at Online Casinos has went downhill over the past year or two. I suspect AI but of course who the hell could prove that? I am considering changing up my style of play every couple weeks and see if that throws(whatever it is) off and i can get back to winnings i once earned.

Peace

When it comes to human beings and gambling, we should always keep our eyes open.
In fact, understanding probability and statistics can give us a great advantage, and we probably won't have enough samples to assess whether a specific casino or game is fair enough or not.

Despite this, I believe we don't have many cases happening... I mean, the house already has a big advantage in most games, why would they use other tricks that would make them lose the 'easy money'?

More and more players talk about improbable sequences, long streaks of colors in roulette, repeated numbers, or moments when the games feel completely unbalanced. Some say it’s just natural variance, others believe that modern systems (live or online) might influence outcomes in one way or another. How do you see it? Have you had experiences that made you question the fairness of casino games, or do you believe everything is purely mathematics and probability? I’m curious to hear your thoughts.
I have had many cases that made me doubt, but not the "fair" of the casino, but my own adequacy 🙂
I think the most famous casinos do not resort to deception, they simply do not need it. Fortunately for them, the players will find them themselves and bring them their money. All that is needed is to create the appropriate conditions.

You’re right, big casinos don’t need to cheat , the built‑in house edge is enough. And the fact that players keep coming back shows how well the environment is designed: the lights, the sounds, the near‑misses, the small wins. Everything is crafted to keep us engaged. Often we don’t question the fairness of the game, but our own decisions and emotions. That’s the fascinating part: the games are “fair” in the sense that the rules are transparent, but the psychology behind them is what really hooks us.

I honestly don't question the fairness of games that are unbeatable in the long run. I'm going to lose money playing them and that's all I need to know.

Da, jocurile de cazino pot fi distractive, dar nu vă așteptați să câștigați.
That's right! You play for fun! If the cake comes, all the better!

Not a casino player other then poker but if you are a really successful player they usually just tell you they dont want your action,so its not fair in the fact that if you are somehow good enough to beat them they can just say no go play somewhere else, winning shouldnt be good enough to ban playing, its like looking at the casino floor and saying jeez the only reason they can play is because they lose most of the time, sad state of reality in a casino

I think the house edge is easier to accept when you know the rules, but long losing streaks can still make you question the game.
