I have always treated any form of gambling as entertainment. However, this does not apply to poker. For me, poker is more of a sport than a game of chance, poker is a game of skill, discipline and experience. Other forms of gambling are simply other forms of gambling.

I'm a wee bit risk averse so a tightrope experience is no fun for me! I just mostly stick to games I know, where I can exert control.

Definitely both, but honestly it comes down to how you treat it. If you treat it like paying for a movie ticket or a night out, it’s just entertainment. The problem starts when people start treating online slots like a side hustle lol. Once you lose that line, it’s pure risk.
 
It's Entertainment what else should it be? It's up to each persons own responsibility how to deal with the risky part of that environment.

Online platforms make the experience super immersive, but that 24/7 convenience is a double-edged sword. It stays entertainment as long as you stick strictly to a set budget you're willing to lose for the fun of it. The second someone starts chasing losses, it crosses over into a step too bold. Discipline is everything!
 
For me, online casino is mostly entertainment, but the risk is always there in the background. I think it stays fun only when you know your limits and don’t chase losses.

True, online play can be fun, but only as long as you stay in your own control zone. The issue is that many players set limits, but few actually stick to them. That’s where the risk comes in. If you don’t chase losses and don’t let impulse take over, online gambling stays entertainment instead of pressure.

For those with vast wealth, it is a form of entertainment—though, of course, the risk is still there. History has seen cases where people lost their entire fortunes in a single day. Anyone lacking self-control should not gamble in any form.
 
Entertainment with acceptable risk brings enjoyment. Entertainment that involves excessive risk leads to problems. For me, gambling has always been a form of entertainment with acceptable risk.
 
Risk, the same as in poker. Not a lot of difference, I lost to a virtual zero percentage odds in poker recently, not much difference.
 
Depends on your purpose of playing If its more like refreshing then fun or else risk indeed
