The late Sheldon Adelson, founder of the Las Vegas Sands, made it well known he was not a supporter of online gambling and had vowed to do 'whatever it takes' to ban it throughout the world. Surprisingly enough, though, LVS did attempt to get involved. So, as it seems, Sands Digital Services (SDS) pulled the plug on any further involvement with online gambling. LVS makes the majority of their profits from land-based casinos in Singapore and Macau.

And the Montana legislature had firmed up the laws on online gambling by making it a felony. The new laws came into effect on Wednesday, which included that anyone offering online gambling to residents could face a 10-year jail term.

In addition to the above stories, we head to Japan, where online gambling is also illegal. In this particular case, a 13-year-old boy was referred to a child behavioral center after making 7,000 visits to an online casino.

'A recent survey by Japan’s National Police Agency found that around 3.37 million Japanese had accessed an offshore online casino, spending an estimated ¥1.2 trillion (US$8.8 billion) in the process.'

Where does this leads to? Completely banning online gambling? I just had an idea for a post.

I guess it will try to stop online gambling all over. However, they make so much money from it, they will say people are over the age of consent (18 or 21), depending on where you live.

I actually think online gambling will increase. But we will see, it depends on what major sites do. Won't happen today, though.:unsure::unsure:

I wish they would just federally regulate online gambling.

All the above is making me wonder if poker is included in what's referred to as "Online gambling" or not.
And I have to add that I agree with Marc when he said: "Won't happen today though", and even with Sells (Mybe even in our lifetime).
