With a double zero wheel the best bets are odd/even, high/low, and black/red. The house has a 5.26% advantage on them. If you are going to play roulette go with one of those choices and use a 1-2-3 progression since they pay 1 betting unit for each betting unit you play.

If your first bet wins add the winnings to your original bet which will be two betting units. If that wins take down your original betting unit and leave three units on the table. If that wins start the progression again by betting one unit. If your wager loses any time along the progression start over with one unit.

Roulette is mostly luck, so there’s no “proper” way to guarantee a win. Outside bets give you a better chance of hitting, but the payout is smaller. My advice would be to start small and decide beforehand how much you’re willing to lose.

No one can tell you the right way to place bets. Placing bets the right way means placing them in such a way that they make you money. You’re unlikely to find a formula for that anywhere

So far, posts N°2 and N°4 have the most helpful information you're looking for.
But if you're really into roulette and like to bet on numbers, I would recommend staying away from European roulette (Double 0), choose the American one and bet on intersections to increase your chances.

PS: That said, I would add that you have better chances to make some profit playing blackjack or Craps. Those are the games with the smallest house edge in cqsinos.

if you are playing on a 'double zero wheel ' (common in the americas ) your gonna lose at about 5% rate .on a european wheel your money will go away at a 2.7% rate . best of luck !

Black/red or even/odd are the safest bets on the roulette table, and they only give you a 47.3% chance of winning...can you get lucky and win? yes, but over the long haul, you will lose...slowly.

The main thing in this game is to stop in time. And this is the most difficult.
If I play roulette, I make a few bets, 5-7, and then try to finish the game. In most cases, this allows me to either break even or make a small profit.
