Many players know the basic rules of the game and even the optimal mathematical strategy, but the hardest part is deciding when to stop from game .
Some set a stop-win (for example, exit the trade after doubling their buy-in value), while others set a stop-loss (quit the trade after losing a fixed amount).
What do you think? Is discipline more important than luck in blackjack and how do you personally decide when to quit?

I think the best way is to have both. A stop-win and s stop-loss. That way you can never go wrong.
The problem is the DISCIPLINE. You really need to be disciplined enough to stick to your plan.

It's very fair what you say!Unfortunately, the vast majority is in a hurry to win as quickly and as much as possible! That's a big mistake .

I think you should quit when either the card count is no longer in your favor, you have reached the end of your blackjack entertainment budget, or you no longer feel like playing.

You have to decide when you leave home how much you want to win! If you reach that level, you get up and leave the casino! The level must be 10-20% of your bankroll!!!

Honestly, the best stop strategy is just realizing when you're getting tired or tilted. Once you start making lazy mistakes or deviating from basic strategy because you're chasing a loss, you're done. I always set a hard stop loss before I even walk into the casino, but if I'm running hot, I'll ride the wave until the shoe cools down or I get bored. Doubling your buy-in is a great place to dip though.

Discipline is more important than luck. Discipline will allow you to keep your nerves and remain a calm and balanced person. Without discipline, you simply will not be able to live a full life.

Stop loss and take profit.
These two simple and effective tools will allow you to play safely and prospectively.

I recommend leaving a casino , online or real , any time you start to lose ! That might be as quick as 2 or 3 bets . Most of us are not good enough to win at blackjack . Go find a poker game where you are almost sure to find a few weak opponents and have a decent chance of coming out ahead .

Before you start playing, decide what percentage of profit you’d be happy with. I reckon 20–30 per cent is quite reasonable.

Discipline is definitely more important. I always set a loss limit before I start, and if I hit it, I'm done. If I'm up a decent amount, I'll usually cash out instead of pushing my luck.

Discipline is more important than luck in the long run. If you have a problem and you don't know when to stop, don't start the game. Never start the game without a clear understanding of when you need to stop. He who doesn't stop loses everything, and therefore the best thing he who doesn't stop can do is not start the game.

The best stop strategy in Blackjack is the combination: Stop Win + Stop Loss + Stop Time. You stop when you’ve reached your profit target, when you’ve hit your loss limit, or when your session time is over.
Stop Time (for discipline) You play for a fixed amount of time, regardless of the result.

Example: 20 minutes / 40 hands at the end → STOP, whether you're up or down

Why it’s good: Blackjack is a game with a house edge. The longer you play, the more your chances decrease.
I waited for one of you to find this strategy, but nobody used it in this thread! Maybe it will help you in the future! Good luck!

I’d probably set a stop-loss beforehand and stick to it, rather than chasing losses. Once I hit the limit, I’m out 😄

It’s good to have a stop‑loss, but I combine it with a stop‑win. If you don’t set a profit ceiling, the game will tempt you to keep playing until you give everything back. Two limits, strictly respected, are the healthiest long‑term strategy. Stop Time” can exist, but it’s not a strategy by itself — it’s just a discipline limit. The two financial thresholds are the ones that truly matter.

Well, when in Vegas or any casino over two hours away, the rules go out the window lol.
I just keep playing for however long I have there. But at my local casino, I play more of a hit-and-run,
start with 100, and when it's gone, I am gone. If I double it, same thing; I head out the door.

By following an online blackjack strategy, you can play a hand with a predetermined plan of action. Most players, especially amateurs, make decisions spontaneously during the game, while those who use a strategy know exactly what to do in any situation. When combined with other strategies, such as card counting, this kind of intelligent play will help you win more at online casinos in the long run.Of course, this also depends on the specific rules, which may differ from casino to casino. Different sets of rules lead to different optimal strategies.

Discipline beats luck. Avoid fatigue by limiting sessions to two hours, use a strict stop-loss, and lock in profits quickly before the house edge prevails.
