I would say the heads up SnG's are one of the best ways to make money with that bankroll. Maybe play them until you have enough to safely play ring games.

No, I disagree with you maniacmath13. It's very hard to be a steady winner in Heads Up SnGs. Even if you might get on a hot streak in the beginning, you will almost come out even, maybe a little ahead if you're lucky.

I disagree with iMaGiN. It's really easy to win HU SNG at the low level if you are a great Headsup player. I started w/ a $5 bankroll that I got from begging (not really too proud of that), and now from just playing $2 SNG I'm around the $40 mark, (plus I keep all my friends bankrolls in check by giving them money all the time cus they lose it all the time).

Well if it works for you Tjyff, great for you man. I just know a lot of people who tried that approach and got practically no where. Some even lost after so many bad beats.

25 is a good start but you can get into alot of trouble on tilt with bad beats so i would play some small sng to start and build your bankroll b4 hitting some big tables

Thanks everyone, i play mainly sngs and mtt, i would like to start with more but like i said i mainly play at pokerstars where i have a decent sized BR, i just wanted to see if i can turn 25 into a decent bankroll, i played 3 1.25 9 person sit n gos last night cashed in all 3, 2-3rds and a 1st, and i played the ferguson but was 50 away from cashing so my roll is at 28 something so the quest starts ;). someone said something about playing the 2 dollar sngs since the fee is still the same, what are others peoples thoughts on that? should i stick with the 1 dollars for awhile or could i play the 2 dollars?

The rake on the $1 is higher than the $2 which makes it more difficult to build, but the play on the $1 are much worse than the $2. That's not to say the play at the $2 is good, just that the $1 is much worse. I ran some tests in the turbos and found my ROI to be better in the $1 than the $2, so for me the worse play outweighed the decreased rake, but ymmv.

But I think this is similar at Stars. What is not similar is the awful rake at the 0.05/0.10 ring games at Tilt, so avoid those.

Go for it!!!

I started out on FT with only freerolls over a year ago and am still playing with their money

Just follow the advice everyone has given you about BRM and play smart.

Good luck out there

25 is doable. However I perfer more because I play cash games and they are .05/.10nl and with a 25 in a cash game at full tilt can be rough because of the variance. You could hit a bad downswing. However if you only play sit/go and low buy in MTT till you get up alittle then play cash games then I could see you turing it in to thousands.

Practice makes perfect. (but tell that to my boyfriend...)
Nah, just keep in there, keep with in your bankroll, albeit small and climb your way out.

It'll be a tough grind but anythings possible. BRM is hard to manage when you have such a small bankroll. Good luck.

played the ferguson for the third time tonight cashed this time, got 74th out of 1200 some, lost to a sick beat, blinds are 500-1000 and i have AK in mid pos, everyone folds to the guy on my right who min raised to 2000 i have 10k left at this point so i push all in everyone folds to him and he waits forever (his stack 26000 some) finally calls with J10d flop is 10Kx one diamond, turn Ad, river another diamond so im pretty disgusted cause i should of went alot further but theres always tomorrow......

I think the guidelines is 20 to 50 tournament buyins the higher the better, but 20 buyins is about right for cash games. Of course you can get lucky and you can do it with 2 dollars :)

25 $ is fine if you are not willing to play rings games on FTP. ON Pstars I dropped 20 $ into my account Monday and today(sunday) I'm up to 115 $. The best of all is that I didn't even play over my bankroll. My biggest wins comes from Heads-up ring games and 9 to 45 players sit n go. Just keep in mind that you have to play cheap games before you move on a bigger limit. So if you have 25 $ the maximum that you can buy in in a SnG is 2 $. Good luck !

i once on pokerstars turned 32 cents given to me into 60 dollars (really didnt take that long it happened in two day period) only to get cocky and do a 50 dollar buy in and lose it and then go on tilt from there and donk off the rest so i would definitely say its do-able. just don't be stupid like i was.

You can play with $25 but remember not to get to clever to fast keep to smaller games they say 5% of your bank roll is fine and if you lose your bankroll can with stand the loss

best of luck
