Say a bunch! Good evening, ♠️♦️♥️♣️

After I started playing poker frequently... I noticed something kind of worrying:

I think poker has started to affect my brain outside the tables 🤡😂

Really.

There are times when I'm experiencing normal everyday situations... and my head automatically transforms everything into poker 😅

👉 When something goes wrong: “variance...”

👉 When someone makes a dubious choice: “that one threw it off the range” 😂

👉 When I need to avoid confusion: “better double this fight”

👉 When something unexpected happens: “pretty river now huh”

👉 And when the month opens: “urgent bankroll management” 💸🤣

The worst thing is that sometimes he begins to analyze the decision of his life just like the venue of the tournament.

Just today, I went to get a gas bottle and had a closed one in traffic... at the time my head automatically thought:

“That move was very aggressive with no position” 🤡🚗

Then I realized that maybe poker has already crossed the line a bit 😂

And I think poker does that to us.

Few people will become more suspicious, more calculating ... and a little bit crazy too 😂

But I'm going to say one thing:

despite the punches, bad beats, and occasional tilts... poker also taught me a lot about patience, emotional control , and accepting that not everything can be controlled.

Even when the river decides to troll 😅

Now one said:

What poker craze has leaked into your real life? 👀😂

You also started to think like the player outside the table... or am I already in need of intervention? 🤡

GL on the tables... and in the mind too 🍀🧠

The fact that poker improves brain function is a natural process. I think it’s a specific feature of logic-based games to develop our thinking and make us better. Pokers helps us make the right decisions in everyday life by carefully considering them and assessing the risks.

I feel that way too. I think poker ends up training us to think one step ahead and weigh risks all the time. The difficult thing is to turn off that switch after the table 😂
Do you also notice this in your daily life?

Poker gave me patience but also paranoia 😂 Every decision now feels like ICM pressure. Even choosing food delivery takes 10 mins.

I like to think that things that are annoying/frustrating/make me angry are now Tilting!! I would never even have understood that word pre poker!

Like someone says something weird to me, and I think to myself, that was tilting. I actually think it helps it be less annoying bringing poker into it

Do I switch off my mind after playing poker? Yes, I did that 15 years ago, when I first started playing poker. I loved poker so much that I spent every day at the poker club in my town, playing freerolls and cash games. I really enjoyed the atmosphere. I remember that I also felt a rush of excitement back then. But emotions fade over time. I stopped getting excited about strong hands. I think I’ve gotten used to balancing my daily life with poker. :)

Sometimes, mentally translating life into the language of poker is normal and even beneficial, as long as it remains a metaphor and not a way to make all real-world decisions solely as a game of probabilities.
The author reveals her reality, how a long-term passion for poker develops a unique way of thinking: a person begins to perceive everyday situations through the categories of probability, strategy, and risk. This is presented with humor, but emphasizes the real cognitive skills that the game develops. You, my dear friend, will have a wonderful life! Good luck!!!🙏💵💰

Maybe poker doesn’t make people crazier, but rather more aware of risk and probabilities or perhaps constantly thinking in poker terms can be a sign of mental overload or playing too much volume.
